It that your patrol carbine? What ARMS # is that mount?

It's the carbine I would like to carry on duty.  My chief won't allow us to carry personal carbines on duty.  The department only has two carbines that are already issued.

It's an A.R.M.S. #22M68 mounted on a Knights RAS II.

ARMS #22 M68, Larue BUIS, KAC RAS II, Vltor stock......"Beyond Standar Issue", Ban Him!

CQB Solutions(Now Spectre Gear) 3 point SOP Sling with Transition Release Buckle-An Arfcom favorite.
It allows one to transition from right to left side very quickly/easily when, releasing the TRB. The 2"
width as compare to standard 1" or 1.5" webbing is WAAAAY more comfortable while at low/high ready
during extended periods(in My case drilling sessions).

NEW BIRTH ANNONCEMENT!

My new baby!

A used GI upper from ADCO came in the mail yesterday & I mounted a new medium profile SOCOM barrel from skich. This is not the final configuration. Will be getting a Colt lower when I finish my move to South Carolina. All the major components will be Colt.

For a long time this dissipator owner couldn't figure out what the attraction was to the M4. Well, now that I have a partial assembly in my hands I understand. Nice balance, rock solid feel & the weight is fine. I'm more accurate with a weapon that has some heft to it. Getting used to the shorter sight radius shouldn't be hard. Any suggestions or comments welcome.

I recently got my first M4gery too (Bushy Patrolman) coming from a V-Match and Dissipator.  I found the carbine site radius a non issue.  Matter of fact, I prefer shooting the carbine.

My Patrol Rifle when I first built it:

It now has a Spectre Single point on a Daniel Defense loop. In a couple months I will be addidng a M910 to replace the G2. I also have to replace the stock since I busted the pin clearing a jam.

Not a "true" M4, but miles above the M16A2's that we carried when I was still active. The only bad part is I am slowly finding what commercial parts are inferior to the original mil-spec items. I can't beat my M4 clone like I could with my M16.

Nice.  That's exactly how many of my unit's M16A4s looked.  The Army's basic optic is the M68 CCO.   Everyone in the unit got RAS M5s, but not all were issued M68s.  The remainder used irons or personal optics (we had a few soldiers with Cmores, OKOs, Eotechs, and ACOGs).  Optics are in short supply in the Army; although, I heard lately it's been getting better.

More A4s please. I just picked up a M5 Ras in the EE for a A4gery, and I don't even have a 20" upper yet.. Damn this BRD..

That's fucked up.  My entire ITB battalion had an M68 for every rifle.  BCTB guys were using M-16A2's though.

I have made a copy of my M-16 I carried in the field with a A2 upper Eotech on M5 rails and a collasable stock but that is one of the good things about being an officer people dont give you too much crap for doing things to A2's as they do M4's.  Could not get a M4 since I was on a staff.  I will post picks if you want.  EOTECH is back about to be shipped back to EOTECH due to damage.

Like I said if you want pics I will post.

It was good to have the odd weapon but being on convoys with Army troops and I was wearing DCUs made me a target I think even more.

Hey Ekie, Could you list the number of panels you have on your M5 and how many ribs they have?  Appreciate it.  Also, I don't know if you noticed, but one of your carbines is missing a trigger...

Never counted the panel ribs.  I just cut down to fit.

Took the picture of the older Carbine while I was in the process of coating the lower to match the upper with Norrell's.  Got all the parts on it now.

Ekie,
I know You go through some painstaking detail with you're clones.
We're gonna' need specs for both of them.

All three are on MT6400C lowers.

The older Carbine is a surplused 1995 Colt M4 upper with a SDI muzzle do dad.  The newer Carbine is a surplused 2000 M4A1 upper with a SDI muzzle do dad, RAS and Comp M2.  The rifle was built with a factory original M16A4 upper, TA31F, RAS, and one of those buttstock mag holder deals.

I like the 550 corded Aimpoint, and the serial numbered buttstock on yours.  Need to do that to mine.

EOTECH is busted red dot is not bright any longer.  I thought I had sent it off on Monday but I guess I did not.  Good company they said they will try and get it ready to go and all I have to pay is shipping.

The A2 upper and the Collasable stock is not commen.  Like I said I had a lot of leeway to do things do to the job.  I just convince a Armorer to do it for me after I found him a few dozen SAW barrels he needed.   I got some stares but not much talking too I guess being a AF Officer makes people think AF does their own things anyway.

But how about a BUIS(KAC 300 Mt. or Matech) first?

i'm holdin off on the BUIS for awhile....until I get the acog i'm gonna throw my BUIS on my A4gery from my carbine and just use my M2 for my carbine....neither one is for home defense and they're only gonna see range time for now

but i will have a BUIS on it eventually....you see if i wasn't a dumbass i wouldn't have sold off my carry handle....and then i would have been fine til i got my acog...but....i'm a dumbass and i needed the cash at the time

Someone IM'd me inquiring what brand my sling and mag pouch are (see page 2).  So if anyone else is wondering...

My sling is by Tactical Operations Products (TOPS).  I originally used a tactical sling by CQB Solutions (now called Specter Gear), but the older style quick release buckle broke half way through my tour.

TOPS = www.google.com/search?hl=en&lr=&q=tactical+operations+products+sling

I bought it at the PX (FOB Warhorse, Iraq).  However, most everyone bought and used the "Black Mamba" sling by SpecOps Brand, but I preferred the TOPS since it was wider and had a quick release buckle.

I notice that the new Mamba slings have improved.  They all now come with a quick release buckle, and the Mamba "Geronimo" version has a wider strap so it won't dig into your shoulder... pretty cool.

Mamba slings = specopsbrand.com/Categories.asp?CatID=5

My mag pouch is by SpecOps Brand. It's what everyone used over there because, again, that's what they had at the PX.
