After my inquiry, Monty is now looking at reducing the size of the FSB pocket for a more aesthetically pleasing look (the previous version had about an inch of dead space to the front of the FSB). In my opinion, this would be an great improvement and I will be first in line for purchase. I'll let you know what they say as far as dates go. |

OK...well, I talked to Monty and he's going to look at the feasibility of reducing the pocket length in front of the FSP, as he agrees, from a cosmetic perspective, he's always thought it would look better. Just finished swapping out
here is the gun before 
2 piece MI rail with a G2 with 120 lumen LED head/Z49 tail switch and VLTOR mount. rails covers are KAC's that I stippled. Served me well for many years... good accuracy with ball ammo. Now 
MI Gen 3 carbine rail.. 200Lumen scout with Gear sector rail mount and Magpul Gen 2 MLOK rail covers and BCM VFG. Much lighter and I like the thinner diameter rail.

Spoke to one of the customers at the shop who is also a machinist (rather bug him than my boss). He's going to help me mill out the rail I'm getting and some other stuff. Wait till you guys see this one. Here's what I have assembled so far. Just need a trigger, the actual rail and a mount for my Vortex Viper PST II 1-4 that is on the way. Probably going to end up with an ALG QMS since I don't really feel that spending money on triggers is worth it (for me anyway). Although that new Geissele trigger has me curious. I'll have to talk to my buddy over there to see if I can play with one to determine if I want to drop the cash on it or not.

This has become my favorite carbine. Started out as a bit of a junk build when I bought a heavily painted upper sight unseen...ended up with a Colt receiver and a KMR (not Alpha) BCM 9 inch rail. Barrel ended up being beat to crap so I had a Spikes Enhanced lightweight middy that i was saving for a rainy day. Bead blasted the rail, refinished it with Norrells grayish flat black and put it all together. Finished it all off with a La Rue trigger and the sights. Few thousand rounds later and it is just one of those carbines that gives you confidence it will do what you ask.
