Easily one of the most beautiful hard use ARs I've ever laid eyes on.    You really created something special, and totally "buddyhoohaw" with that build.

You have so much sexiness in your arsenal, but that one might take the cake.

ETA:  What handstop is that?

Thanks for the kind words and it is a super-soft shooter with the combination of midlength gas, Super 42 kit and SF Warcomp.  I bought a SF SOCOM Mini2 especially for this build and it will hopefully clear NFA in the next month or so.  The handstop is a Phase 5 Tactical that I have been buying for all my M-lok rails and I really like the feel and quality.  To me it feels better than the karve and B5 offerings.

Cheers

Nice...thinking of finally giving the Super 42 kit a shot myself.

Interesting about the Phase 5 tactical handstop, as I remember buying one of his funky trigger guards back in the day.   I'll definitely check those out.  They look great.

This is not a URGI from Geissele. I assembled it myself by using a Colt 6920 as a base that was barely used. The barrel is a Colt 10.3" factory barrel. Gas block was pinned on by D.Wilson Manufacturing.

Optic may not stay, and most likely an EOTech EXPS 3.0 will be on the gun.

just got my upper receiver back from ankratz, cerakoted to match my tanodize DDC URGI.  understanding that cerakote is not the same as tan anodized.

I sent him my light silvery colored upper, he had to strip off the cerakote before he applied the new color.  I'm glad he was able to "salvage" my "C" upper.  looks a whole lot better IMHO.
Colt upper, Colt BCG.  Ankratz also cerakoted a 80% lower with the same color at the same time, but haven't machined that out yet.

as compared to before:

Is it me or is the MK16 two different colors? It looks lighter at one end and darker at the muzzle end

The lighting makes the anodizing look different in every picture. As far as I can tell by naked eye, it's all the same color.

Optic mount is a Nightforce Unimount.

Wishing I'd picked up an OD MK16 instead of an OD MK4 Federal.

Is there anyone in here that would be interested in a trade?

with the concerns about the gas block impacting the rail, would a shaved .625 sight block be significantly smaller than a similarly shaved .75?

anyone have a source for decent 11.5 inch .625 front sight post barrels?

My first contribution to AR15.com here. When I heard about this potential concern I decided just to go forward with my build with some modifications. Sent my upper to ADCO to put it together and also turn down the gas journal on the DDLW 14.5 barrel from  0.75  to 0.625. Also had them pin a PRI low profile gas block, and fix a neural timed closed tine sf warcomp.

New MK16 rails are available!

Black and DDC 10.5" rails and black 15" rails are out (the 15" is only available on Duty rifles).

There are also proprietary 10.5" and 16" MK16 Geissele Center Tab rails available on complete rifles and URGs. The 10.5" is available in black, DDC, gray, and ODG. The 16" is only found on the Bill Geissele Signature Series Rifle and is available in Desert Rock Color (DRC) and African Desert Khaki (ADK).

@pezboytate

I got a black 10.5" Mk 16 as a Christmas present.  Came in last week.  Installed weight is 12.6 oz. and it is exactly 10.5" long (I like that Geissele rails are exactly as long as advertised; seems like not everyone does it that way).  For whatever reason, there are no Geissele manufacturer or model markings anywhere on the rail.  The only markings are the numbers on the Picatinny slots on top, which are engraved before anodizing.  I'm using it on my first AR build, which still needs a number of parts before it'll be complete.  When complete it'll have a 16" mid-length pencil barrel.  This handguard should completely cover the gas block and leave just enough room for a bayonet lug forward of the handguard if desired on a mid-length barrel.
