That's mine, the upper is a Rainier CE10.  10.3" DD barrel with carbine gas, 11" Rainier (Samson) Evolution tube.

Lower is a Controlled Chaos Arms (CCA) mfg'd by Seekins.  Geissele SSA-E and pretty basic LPK.  BCM Mod 1 grip with texture by CCA.  Vltor A5 tube/buffer.  And obviously a fantastic burnt bronze cerakote job by CCA!

yup... troy now has "squid grips" which are soft rubbery pieces that pop securely into place. it makes the rail much more comfortable to hold.
no idea how much heat it keeps off your hands or how they'll hold up to the heat of the barrel, but i'm sure they've been tested by troy. hoping to go shoot tomorrow.

SO what are people using to paint?  Or are they having them Cerakoted?

I would love to do it myself, if possible.

Thanks

dang, you're right! i had 3 guns and only 2 bcg's and CH's. so when i traded my pistol for a 1911 i had to give up a charging handle... as for the bcg: for now i've got a cmmg .22 kit in there.

i dont know of anyone making burnt bronze other than cerakote.
you might be able to come decently close with a bit of black over gold.
kinda wish i had my guy mix in a tiny bit of black to darken it a hair.
regardless, i love the color.

Haha it's there but it's not pushed all the way through as the Cerakoter put it on thick in a few areas that he shouldn't have. It has since been fixed.

one last one...  don't want the owner to have all the wind sucked out of his sales.  we used it yesterday in our girls with guns photoshoot, we shipped it out today.  he can post the rest he feels ok to provide.  last one:

I have to say that this is one of the best looking ARs I have seen.  I may have to make mine similar to this one.  I'm not going with burnt bronze, like these, but it will be pretty close to is.

Kinda ugly compared to the AFG, but it forces my hand further forward and gives me a more consistent grip.  The AFG has a lot of wiggle room for where you can put your hand, with this that's not the case.

Embiggen - a perfectly cromulent choice of words.

How do you like the BCM grip?  I was thinking of trying one out.

I am really liking all these colored Bronze rifles....

Question, does anyone make a Receiver Set that is Anodized color, and not just a sprayed on coating like cerakoting.

I may be wrong, but I understand that an anodized aluminum is a tougher better finish than any spay-on finish.

Thanks for the recommendations.

I really like the look and color of the R-Guns Matte Sand set... just don't like all the reviews I have read here.

Works fine, angle is nice, storage compartment is nice although I haven't tested to see if it's actually waterproof to any depth.

Cons:  feels cheap, and the color is wrong.  "Tan" would be a more honest description than FDE.  It's easier to see in this "before" pic:

The texturing my Cerakote guy (Controlled Chaos Arms) put on is what made me decide to keep it for now vs. a MOE-K, say.  The new Umbrella grip looks interesting for those that want the acute grip angle on a pistol/PDW.... if they make it in FDE.

yeah i can't wait for the umbrella grip to come out. i felt the bcm grip was just a tad too small. and i even got the big one. love the angle though. i wish magpul would make a more vertical backstrap for the MIAD for my monkey hands
