I completely redid my build. I was able to find a 12.7 pencil barrel with a non f bayonet lug FSB that I had cut a little under 10.5 and added a triangular retainer. I bought a long version of the 607 moderator and had to sand off tooling marks. I found a Comp M with the correct Trijicon TX14 ring (From Tripower), but I still have to find a B Square mount though. I have a late 90s-early 2000s weaver mount currently, I think it’s a US Tactical System mount. I cut down some A2 handguards and JB welded them to carbine length. I also fitted my old Surefire M14 mount to fit perfectly inside the FSB and mounted a 660. I was also able to find the movie correct Bushmaster CAR stock and extension last year. I still have to get the lower then it’s time for paint.    ETA. If anyone has a source for the old style rear Aimpoint cap please PM me. The front cap is original, but I have the newer type on the rear. |

I made a few changes and now I’m 99% done with it. Here’s the updated parts used -Colt A2 upper -Brownells A1 barrel cut to 10.3 with non F bayonet lug FSB -triangular handguard retainer -Retro Rifles long 607 style moderator -Fiberglass A2 handguards cut and JB welded to carbine length -Surefire 660 with fitted Surefire M14 mount and tape switch held by zip tie -B Square weaver mount -Early 2000s Aimpoint Comp M -Trijicon TX14 30mm split ring -Model 1 Sales commercial size polymer CAR stock. It has the profile of an aluminum stock with reinforcement ribs and no markings except for circular mold marks on the right side only -commercial size receiver extension with lock ring -replica OD green nylon M16 sling modified into a shoulder loop -Brownells A1 lower borrowed from my XM177E2 SBR(A2 grip installed, but not pictured) I’m holding off on painting it until I get another lower for it, but I’ll probably throw an A2 grip on it in the meantime.       |

Here’s the old one that I made using two Leupold rings that I JB Welded together. It was a decent placeholder until I could fill the need to have it more correct  I painted it off the rifle so I didn’t have to mess with my paint job too much trying to match it all.   |

If your Tripower was recently on eBay I’m pretty sure I put a bid on the same one for the ring also. I was offered another TX14 ring a week or two ago from a member here. At the time I was bidding on a set of 2 like new Aimpoint Comp M’s and would have bought the ring had I won the auction. The Aimpoints were very nice and still had the wire cap retainers. I also recently saw another TX-14 on eBay if anyone is looking. |

Thanks to @subpar and @reccerecon for their assistance with guidance and parts. Another thanks to TNTE for their assistance with some specifics as well, great guys to work with. Originally intended on doing a Gordon clone but we can't have suppressors in MA so that idea went out the window. After some indecisiveness ended up running with the 10.5 Blood Diamond concept as that was the length the lower is Form 1'd for. Just waiting on an OG alluminum stock to come in and maybe a true ARMS mount but for now, just deciding on a sling setup and I think she's complete. Looking forward to not having sub-artic temps right not to get a good range day in and zero. I’ve been working on this one for a little while now. Not the most accurate clone, but as close as my budget will allow -Cerro marked A2 upper, no m4 feed walls, snagged off the EE stripped for $40. -PSA 10.5” FSB nitride barrel and bcg with A2 flash hider -7 home skinny handguard I’ve had kicking around -IWC standard handguard mount and streamlight rm1 iirc -PSA stealth pistol lower with the H&R brace. Running a spikes t2 buffer -B5 lone star grip -USGI canteen sling -BCM charging handle (not pictured) -Botach T1/2 carry handle mount I’m going to be running a vector prism on this just cause a buddy is trading it to me Need to order the correct style flash hider to make it closer aesthetically minus the optic and light setup I’ll be using Pictures |
