Anyone else building a 'budget' KISS dissy? So far I've been able to grab: DD BCG: $124 Palmetto Lower: $65 MOE Rifle HG: $44 Armalite Clamp on FSB: $35 LMT Rear BUIS: $45 Waiting on the group buy from Palmetto for the MOE LPK...hoping for around ~$110 for that, and the a DSA upper for $275. Should land me around $698 for a pretty much new quality dissy! |

so where could i get a custom contoured stainless barrel with 1:7 twist, 14.5-16" w/ midlength gas?
anyone? bueller? i know adco has the custom cruiser which is sweet, and if i can't find anything else i'll probably go that route, but i'd like to have a 14.5" custom barrel made. |

Well ADCO has a 16" SS WOA with those properties that Im waiting on as well. Not sure about the 14.5", Im sure they could make that for you from the WOA barrel. That or you could have someone like Compass Lake build one for you. |

For those using two piece HG's on conversions, how are you doing it? Dont two piece HG's need a front 'plate' to camp onto behind the FSB? The clamp on FSB's dont include that circular plate to snap the HG's into towards the front of the rifle...and unless you're removing the old FSB, how are you getting the old 'FSB plate' off and behind the new clamp on FSB?  ETA: It's called a handguard cap "triangle". Not a circle. And I just bought two new spares so I can cut the old one off and cut down the old FSB with a dremel |

It holds in still quite well and tightens up the MOE handguard. |
New Stock mounted Single point sling mount and attached a weapon light. The head of teh light is just barely noticeable in the lower left side of the sight as I look through. Using the iron sights, it's really not even noticeable as I am focusing on the sight.
Took it out and ran her on Sun afternoon. Ran great with zero hick ups, which is to be expected,just wanted to verify the gas port was properly aligned with the chopped FSB. |

Sounds like if this is the case with my barrel (BCM 16" Govt Mid) I could possibly shim the fsb to fit. |

Your setup is going to end up costing me alot of money. It looks like a chopped A4, best of both worlds. I think the ACOG just sets it off. So now on my list is used TA31 and RMR. Going to get a clamp on FSB and post on here my progress. |
