Is this whats going on with the Med RAS?

I had one a couple years ago on a build I posted in this thread (i think) and have thought about getting another to replace it but the prices seem stupidly high

Found the old build

The bottom dropped out of the long RAS market in the last few months after this latest drop.

Medium FFs are still rare and pricey.

That’s what I thought I remembered. I tried to use the EE to gauge the market and price for them but I just think this new EE doesn’t have much traffic.

An A4 but with a Block II RIS II rail in FDE. Put a tan sopmod stock on it with a tan grip. Optic is dealers choice.

I feel like its almost an apples to oranges comparison. They're both quad rails, but they just have different V I B E S. Plus I'm an FDE whore and especially for tanodized, the FDE RIS II with a tano buffer tube and FDE Elcan is a peak aesthetic. I love the FF RAS but its hard not to look at it and just see $$$$ that could fund cans or thermal, vs having to throw more money at it to finish the build.

Go look at the AR RPK thread. Its had me thinking about a 20 inch Hbar with an FSB and a free float quad rail, like a rifle RAS or a larue. Plus a bump stock or binary trigger and a TA31.

Uhh, are you sure? My barrel is an 11.3. Is my memory that bad and my rail is not a medium? Pretty sure the carbine fits behind a FSB on a 10.3 so it can’t be that?

Probably referring to flush fitting an AEM5 to a medium RAS.  You are correct that without cutting a barrel and using a more standard MD/suppressor setup, 11.3 fits real nice.

I can't take the credit.. this is something @5pt56 and I did together a few years ago.

Yea I was referring to the barrel length using an AEM5 can. If I stick with the MK12 build Im looking at Ill end up with an AEM5 or OCM5 at some point

One shoots loose, has issues with broken barrel nuts @ weak point, and prolly isnt even made by the company that sells it.
