They’re going on my FAL. I’ve found that with a 1.0” ring a 44mm objective won’t clear my Vltor rail or the rear sight but my 1.375” rings are too much of a chin weld even for me.

The Arms #22 mediums would be perfect but I know the FAL optic rails aren’t exactly in spec so it’d be a risky purchase with their levers.

Thanks for the heads up. I’ll probably pick those up then since they’re in stock.

I took my Arms #17 tri-lock mount with my M951 on it and put it on my optics rail and it fit perfectly. I wonder if the Arms #22 rings would fit the same.

@eyekahn

You weren't lying about tac.  I think this barrel just really loves them hot.  Absolutely no pressure signs.  Edit - the fliers were 100% me.  Swear to fucking god the trigger kept losing the second stage.

Edit 2x - the bottom 24.0 group I dialed some elevation and put in work.

Snagged a MK16 13.5” for $160 just no barrel nut. Never thought I’d pick one up but I may sell my 13.5 URX if I like it enough. Also scored a Wilson combat folding gas block. Thinking about either in a MRE or looking for a different carbine cutout

Do what I do and just take whatever rail and cut that fucker for a FSP.

Took the MRE and others out today for the first time in a while. I just had surgery on both my wrists and it’s the first time I could finally hold a gun again. Tried my best with some groups.

16” 1:7 Bushmaster in the MRE

Outback 69gr: 1.1 moa
Hornady 75gr: 1.3 moa
PPU M193: 1.45 moa
PPU M855: 3.8 moa

The surprise of the day is the PPU ammo. The M193 was surprisingly accurate while the M855 was garbage. Could just be my shooting with barely being able to hold the rifle even prone on the bipod.

Used to be all I bought when I didn’t know better. Just about finished with the last case I have of it. Now I just buy M193 and a little bit of match ammo when it’s in stock and clearly that has been the right choice.

Guess I'm back in Club SIR. You fuckers must like me having too many irons in the fire

I'm never going to get a NF. I'm just going to have to come to terms with it. My for shit pile of optics is what I got. I think the Vari-X 3-9 will sit nicely on a #59M, though. I'll probably build up the NSW and get a P4Xi for the MRE and use the Vari-X 2.5-8 on it. But then the #38 S-EX will be homeless.

It never fucking ends. I'm about to just tear everything down and build shit for specific uses like a periodic vending machine.

I've never been 100% sold on the FF RAS long on the 20" so it'll be nice to finally have the #59M to get it to a state of "completion" and it frees up the FF RAS for the NSW

But I'm going to bubba that thing up with a 14.5 flush and maybe even slap the #38 S-EX on it since it won't have a home. It'll be NSW who hit rock bottom.

Got most of the parts for the rifle length NSW, and the spikes tapered gas block is just enough exposed with the larue 13.2”. Once I get the barrel, it’s losing all the tan parts, the lower is going back to its other upper and this one will get its own lower and paint job. Everything’s just hand tight, but it balances real well. Just need to get the barrel spun up and to form 1 the suppressor.

It's not the base to receiver fit, it's the ring halves that are causing problems. It seems like the lower ring half is out-of-round. I've tried every spare ring cap, and trc/trr I have and nothing matches up.

I found some NF 1.5" to try for a while.

I like the height, so I may try to find a 1.93" unimount of some flavor to use long term.

Anyone have any suggestions on a solid 2.5-10 or 3-15 or something in that range optic for a .308 DMR build?

I’m currently trying to decide on getting another 2.5-10x32 Gen 1 PST, Trijicon Credo 2-10, or a Meopta 2.5-15x44. I need some advice or more options in the sub $1000 range.

If only it wasn’t a Hbar barrel in there. I’ve been thinking about a smooth fiberglass or carbon handguard for a 3 gun setup but I’m afraid that might be too heavy.

Modern SPR collar is pretty easily sourced, and requires no extra work for a properly contoured barrel. AEM5-M4 collars need to be made to spec, and AEM2/4 (even Spike's) collars aren't terribly hard to find, you'll just need the step contoured a little further back to mount an AEM5 (IIRC 0.5" but don't quote me on it).

This is why this cowboy shit is resourceful. Just have to figure out the right way to use the wrong parts

I called them up and gave them my credit card number. They said they'll guarantee I'll get one but don't know when I'll get it. As with all NFA, I'm prepared to wait months (if not a year).

The AEM5 is worth the squeeze. One of my favorites I own. I have a AEM5-30 pending that I’m looking to use on a 6.5C gasser or maybe even a bolt gun down the road. I’ve often thought of how sweet the AEM5 would be on a bolt 5.56.

That's how I got mine.  Worked great.  Only down side was its right at an hour from my place to Capitol Armory;  when mine was approved I got there at 8 only to realize the open at 9.  So there I sat staring at the door for an hour...... Knowing she was inside waiting.

Glad folks couldn't see in the truck with me doing 85mph down 130 with an Aem5 sitting in my lap....
