double star lower mega upper sabre defence 20 gov 1/7 barrel bcm bcg bcm carry handle black water sling spec ops buttstock pouch http://i30.photobucket.com/albums/c324/liquidg84/guns/CIMG1391.jpg http://i30.photobucket.com/albums/c324/liquidg84/guns/CIMG1397.jpg http://i30.photobucket.com/albums/c324/liquidg84/guns/CIMG1396.jpg Up next either a MI railed handgaurd or maybe a KAC m5 if i can find one under $200.00, no acog anytime soon, i like the irons and i still need more stuff for my other toys/ammo, plus i'd like to get a mega lower to go with the upper and build an carbine with the doublestar lower. So many wants, so little money |

Who makes those Velcro slings that wrap around the front of the handguards and the buttstock?
I am building one of these bad boys myself. Just got the upper in today. I think I'm just going to use an MI 2 piece railed handguard though and stick an Aimpoint on it though for the optic. Definitely will need a buttstock mag pouch for it too. Who makes those? I am SOOOOO untacticool! |

It doesn't have a F marked FSB (had to buy a taller front sight post to get it to zero with irons), The threads arn't concentric to the bore so I don't run it suppressed. If I could get a replacement upper, I would probably sell this one cheap. However no one seems to want to make a 20 in 1:7 govt profile barrel nowdays. Oh and before someone makes a stupid commend on the purple M5 RAS, the one I had in Iraq was brighter purple. Did barney make that ras? You could have the barrel rethreaded. You would loose maybe 5/8 inch and no one but you would notice. I cut back and turned threads on a friends armalite upper that he botched removing the pinned ban era brake. CMMG and Sabre make 1/7 20 inch barrels but I am sure the waiting period is sometime into next year. |

Yea, but why should I pay for something that should have been done right to begin with?
I am debating having the barrel chopped to 18.5 and using it for a different project. Shoots well enough that I would debating using it for a SPR like gun. I tell you I hated the M16A4 I had in Iraq. However now that I am home, I do like having a similar rifle. I looked into having the FSB on this replaced with an F-FSB, but it looks like I would be charged over $100 to do that. I think I would just assume wait and buy a BCM upper and then sell this one. I used to like CMMG, but their customer service has gone sour, and I won't expect them to have a barrel with concentric threads. I have no personal experience with Saber, but boy is anything with their name on it expensive hard to get. What I think I would like to do is: Get a good quality accurate(<2 MOA) 1:7 govt profile barrel, free float it with something like a LaRue , DD M4 rail, or URX, and have it ready to be suppressed. It could do just about everything I want. |

This rifle started life in 2003 as a FN M16A4 sitting in the arms room when we received our mobilization orders our units SDM shooters gut together with the unit armorer and started trying to figer out what we were going to do about rifles we had already been informed we were not going to be getting any of the supper new MK12 mod0s. After we brain stormed we went threw all of the A4s we had and picked the ones with the best barres and lower to upper fitment then we started to mod them. First our armorer did trigger jobs on them then we went out and picked up Vltor mod stocks and replaced the A4 stocks fore better usability in CQB. After that he hand lapped the barrels and did some other AMU tricks to the internals. the laser in the bottom 2 picks was just thrown on there for EOF The AMU built SDM-Rs had Douglas barrels, DD free floated rails, windage adj. front sight bases, 2stage triggers, and an ACOG That rifle is a modded M16A4. |

I just bought the buttstock the other night for my first build. Can't wait! I'm kind of nervous about finding a barrel though. Looking for a White Oak Armament barrel but have not been successful yet.
Good looking rifles all. |

I completely lucked out and picked up my 2006 Trijicon TA31 RCO-A4 from Ebay for $300 around October last year. It was used by the Military, beat up, broken glass and was most likely sold as Gov't surplus.
I bought it, send it to Trijicon to be rebuilt since all of their scopes have a lifetime warrenty. After they confirmed it was not stolen from the military they sent it back with a list of what they had fixed which was everything. New lenses, prism, adjustment knobs, and Nitrogen gas. All done FREE of Charge. I know have a factory rebuilt veteran Trijicon for a quarter of the price of a new one. |
