Haha yeah, it's in there in the A2 stock. I didn't want to place all of the springs out for the photo either. My luck, it would all be lost in the driveway haha.

My Dad and I assembled the rifle this week and he has never built an AR until now. He's now gathering parts for his first build soon. The bug has got him. He loved being able to assemble it and then take it to the range the next day. It was a great experience for us to make this build happen. I didn't get my front sight kit in time for us to build it so we still shot it without the front sight post. I happen to still guess where to hold and hit steel at 100 yards which was fun ha. Here it is next to my MK12 Mod 0, Glock 9mm SBR, and AK SBR.

I've got a question for my fellow A4 guys, especially you guys that reload.

If I wanted to test out some hand loads on my A4 clone what can I do to minimize tension on the barrel while shooting from a bench since it wears that KAC M5 RAS and not free-floated?

It is because of that particular rail I ask this here.

My Son got me some Sierra 77gr BTHP to make hand-loads for Father's Day and my A4 clone is my only 20" barrel as well as my only 1:7 twist barrel.

Do any of the M16A4's come with or have Ambi Safety/Selector's ?

I ask because I see the Colt AR15A4's with Ambi Safety/Selector's from the factory, but none of the pic here depicting the M16A4's have them.

ETA- Does the Military use the Inforce WML at all ?

Selector, Fire Control, Assembly NSN 1005-01-585-6042 is the ambi safety that is available for M4A1s it replaces Selector, Fire Control, Small Arms NSN 1005-01-225-8339 which is used on all M16, M4 and Mk12 series.

ref M4A1 Technical Repair Standard
SOFWEP-07-G12P-00032-00 Rev 1
SW370-CC-TRS-010 Rev 1

The Mk12 TRS shows a Amibi Selector PN: DPMS-M1601.

My most up to date M16 series Tech Manual is dated 2008, so they aren't in there.  As an armorer if one of the left handed MARSOC support guy came in with his M16A4 and I had the selector on hand, no question about the conversion.  Just remember to do a functions check, any guaging required or test firing any time you work on a firearm.

Haven't seen anyone use the Inforce WML.  Not saying someone else isn't.

Since this is a NEW PAGE, I KNOW THE RULES, Here a Pic of MY M16A4gery:
</a>" />
I just changed out the Troy Trigger Guard, for a Standard one.  And that is a Type D, A1 Stock w/A2 buttplate, because I don't prefer the A2 stocks.  And a PSA 20" 1/7 CHF Barrel.

" />

COMBAT DIVER, Thank you for your response.  I questioned the Ambi Safety/Selector also because KAC makes them.

The question about the Inforce WML was because, at a local LGS there was a younger person who was trying to tell a few of us

that they were becoming standard issue now over in Iraq & Afghanistan.

Most of us did not believe him !

I Wish I had one of those beautiful ID Stickers. FlDiveCop if you ever want to sell any, let me know.

So, normally I wouldn't post this here & would instead respond in an IM, but because I've had so many requests about this, I'm just going to leave this here...

About a year ago, I started looking into getting a set of UID labels made up for all my ARs. I ended up having 50 labels made that consisted mostly of labels which had personalized serial numbers on them, with a VERY FEW of the labels having generic serials that represented the adoption date of the weapon.
I had a total of 10 of the generic A4 labels & of those labels, 8 were already accounted for. That left 2 generic A4 labels left, so this is what I did with them:

I looked back in this thread going back 1 year, and made a list of everyone who posted a pic of their A4 clones, and put those names in a Tupperware salad bowl with a lid - Shook up the bowl - removed the lid & withdrew 2 names which I subsequently had to go back through the thread & find & sent IMs to them saying that I had a surprise for them and asked for a shipping address. Of those 2 names only 1 responded, so I withdrew a 3rd name and sent them an IM to which they responded the next day. I thus sent those two labels out to the "winners" as it were, with neither of them ever the wiser that they had even been involved in a drawing in the first place.

It cost me just over $300 or so to have 50 labels made (just over $6 per label as shipped to me). If I were to have a batch of only generic-serialed labels made for sale, I would have to sell each label for over $10 apiece just to break even covering reshipping individual labels out to others, and it plays hell with my brain trying to figure out how to make price breaks that work for both parties if dealing with sending out more than one individual label per sale. I wouldn't even break-even reshipping say 10 labels for $65, and I don't know many who would want to spend $75-$100 for 10 labels - So, will I ever have another batch done up? Maybe...At the present time though...not very likely. I just don't know. With everything going on politically, now is really not the best time to be forking out money on detail expenditures such as these... Probably better to invest in actual firearms, parts, or ammunition...

Hopefully this has helped to answer some of the questions about these labels.

There was a video that popped up on YouTube as a video suggestion. It was a video about female recruits at Parris Island and several of them had A4's just like that. If I can find it I'll post the link.

They are referred to as a M1 sling. It looks like what they are using is the cotton web variety for some reason. Most of the time, they are nylon. Back in the late 1970s, we used the M1 nylon web sling on our M16A1s. That was our battle sling.

the cotton one grips the sling keeper better

We didn't have lights on our M16A4's but we did have PEQs of one flavor or another.  That was Ft. Sill circa 2006.  Only non gun bunny in my battery lol

It would seem that they carry all the panels that come with the rail system. Good idea, IMHO....that way they don't get lost.
I remember how a PVT. lost his carrying handle in basic....wow! the Dill's had fun with him....

It acts as obvious indicator to the rangemasters what position the safety selector is in. - The white line only goes through half of the selector lever, thus when the selector lever is placed in the "Semi or Burst" fire position, the white "line" becomes "broken".

Our military barely teaches people how to shoot, you think we going to spend the money to train them on two ways to sight in?

Thanks be that you're not running the military then.

Military training isn't about some romantic notion of what "being a rifleman" is.

Irons should be learned if/when time is available and the user is already proficient using the primary operational systems, like all degraded modes of operation.

Is it good/important/should everyone learn them?  Yes.  But not at the expense of training with primary systems and becoming expert in their use.

Wasting inordinate amounts of time and energy training degraded mode operations before/at the expense of learning primary systems is jumping backwards through your own asshole for little to no appreciable operational gain.
