Yep I would say that reticle is the best of both worlds. The 01 reticle is IMO better for precision shots, but I like the 31 reticles better for illum. That one does both.

Also a big fan of the 31H reticle because it’s basically an EOTech reticle with BDC and effective at BAC. Me gusta.

I have to agree. Thing looks like a floating UFO, and the fact there’s no reticle at all in your 1200m bullseye seems like it would take forever and a half to get used to. I want to give the ACSS a shot because that reticle looks awesome along with the ranging tree. Not a fan that it’s calibrated for yards tho. Metric system mo’ betta

ETA looks like the center of the donut is actually your 200m aiming point. Top of ring 100 and bottom of ring 300. Even worse than I thought!

Yeah I had a 31F with the DoD for a while. Terrible.

I like ACSS, but yeah I would rather it be in meters.

some guys didn't like the 1-sided Weaver rings (scope straps really) because of the small screws

Old Surefire 6P
that's a dedicated weaponlight.

it has a two-piece body, shock-isolated bezel, and the body doesn't have the rounded front like a legacy 6P.
the only 6P part is the early button tailcap

It's an M660 weaponlight. Differences from a 6P aside from the head is that the earlier models have a polymer section behind the knurled body (half is polymer, half is knurled aluminum like the 6P)
My light came with an old gen tape switch tailcap that I switched out for a 6P button tailcap

that's an interesting bit of information, the smooth sections on all of mine have been aluminum

I'd always clamp down the smooth section and use the knurled front part free from a mount. that way I could pull the light off the gun to change batteries and bulbs
never seen a polymer tube.

if you could put up a photo i'd appreciate it. preferably of the inside or the threads

all right. on your recommendation, I've ingested a pair of tall bourbons, dragged out a bunch of starter punches, and my heaviest deadblow hammer

threw in a massive pinch of copenhagen, put Romper Stomper by The TRansplants on repeat, and cranked it up

I got a takeoff Colt SOCOM upper off the EE. Waiting to pick up a Colt lower, so I mocked up and test fired on another lower.

8rds in and I had a failure. BCG was stuck. I didn't bring tools, so range day was cut short.

After taking things apart and beating stuff, it looks like the pin on the forward assist sheared and the pieces locked up the BCG.

Other than parts and pieces, this is my first Colt purchase. Hopefully my lower doesn't fail on me too.

Looks like the 553 was the actual culprit, putting unnecessary pressure on the rail and causing the f/a to bind with the bcg. Please send to me and I will properly dispose of it so no one will have to go through this.

In all seriousness, hope you get that worked out. No injuries to you I hope?

It would best match a block 1.5 or a current day standard issue Army M4/M4A1 clone, but nobody will chase you off for putting it on a block 1 either. It just makes more sense from a time frame standpoint to have an M951 in a block 1
