Yes, this is the one I was looking at.  I’ve seen some reports about a loose fit.  Has that been a problem on Colt milspec tubes?

Man, this site keeps my wallet nice and skinny. I'll keep searching for a good deal on an N1. Keeping in mind this build is for the 95-02 era, would the correct optic be an Aimpoint with Wilcox mount, or would it be a specific variation of the Trijicon Acog?

Looking for a 6 pos 7075 buffer tube, possibly with spring and buffer if anyone has a plug on one that can be bought with PP.

Tigwelder1971- Thanks for the lead! So what indicated to you off that my stock was in fact a repop of the N1? Is it the fact that it is missing the two support ribs on each side by the base of the buffer tube or what?

I have the Coyote B5 SOPMOD Gen 1 on a Colt 4-position mil-spec tube and it fits great. Not too tight and not loose.

Wow, did not realize there were so many differences. Have you seen these by m&a? They seem to fit the bill. Obviously not authentic N1 but might be a close second at the price point.

Brownells makes a decent repop. Actually, B5 makes them for Brownells

That stock from Brownells looks pretty nice, not to bad on price. Always nice buying from a reputable source. Maybe I'll just keep watch on the parts/used lower sections of the EE and wait until I find an authentic one for $75-ish, who knows.. Buy Once Cry Once sorta thing.

I have one of the CAR reproduction stocks on the way. Seller stated it's not branded or N marked. Here's the pic that was on his TS post.

ETA: He had multiple but I believe I got the last one he had so this is more than likely not the exact one I'll receive.

wissota4 I like the waffle stock, but the feel and look of the N1 style stock is just classic. I guess the same could be argued for the waffle stock. Both perform excellent for their intended purpose, so I guess it just comes down to personal preference. Doesn't hurt to have a spare cage code colt waffle stock laying around for a rainy day build. I'll add it to my exponential list of things to buy...

This is my main concern with the incoming anonymous stock. I'll try to remember to post some details when I receive and inspect it.

ETA: Looks like that B5 even has the mold markings.

All of the waffle stocks I have come across have terrible tolerance on mil-spec buffer tubes. So loose you would think they were made for commercial buffer tubes.

"One more beer won't hurt" couldn't agree more.
I'll pick up a colt or lmt next time I see one for a decent price on the EE. All of mine have been run of the mill S&W, PSA and other various cheapo's. I had assumed they were all produced by a few vendors(similar to forged uppers) with the only difference being the logos cast into them.

Not the case. Colt and LMT are the waffle sticks worth a darn. The others will get the job done, but when you compare a Colt vs a PSA, you will see the difference. Check out shark arms. He gave me a killer deal on my Colt stock. I want to say it was $25. Both the Colt and LMT have a different shape, much thicker walls and lock up nice and tight. They have the cage codes molded on them. Tons of little differences between a real mil spec waffle stock like Colt than all the other basically throw away stocks like the others

Here is a Colt grip vs PSA

As wissota4 states, Comp2 with QRP mount was Army issue.

My wife shooting my Block 1 clone at 50 yd range earlier today.  Excellent shooting rifle.  The 14.5” barrel has less recoil than the 16”’barrel.

No work means a great time for spring cleaning and I was able to cobble this together with random box finds at the house.

Upper: Colt raised C / raised cardinal, Colt BCG

Barrel: Colt 14.5” barrel with KAC M4QD, ADCO spacer p/w’d. The spacer is amazing by the way and this setup still allows an M9 bayonet to be fixed securely, for any future people wondering that.

Rail: KAC RAS / VFG

Sights: Aimpoint M68 w/ QRP mount, Matech BUIS

Lower: Colt ‘M4 CARBINE’ lower w/4 pos tube, H buffer, Colt FCG, grip.

I took the N1 stock off my 727, and the SOPMOD off my Mk18 to try but for the life of me cannot decide which direction to go for this build.  The SOPMOD is way more balanced even with no junk hanging off the rail.  At most I will add an M3x.  The N1 looks so skinny with the girthy RAS. I guess I could convince myself to toss an M3x on and then have the SOPMOD for batt storage like I do on the 18?  Decisions, decisions, okay back to job hunting!

Here's my generic CAR remake. Has faint mold markings. Fit is not snug, but just test fitted on one of my milspec REs. Has a little bit of wobble but not the worst I've seen., guess I can tolerate it.

Just have to get used to not having that sopmod cheek weld that's all.

BTW anyone know who makes the rubber butt pads for these? I've seen at least one user in this thread with one.
