Been awhile since I messed with a bone stock M4, picked up another the other day - with an H buffer I'm getting 2:30 ejection, H2 getting 3:00 - 55gr Fiocchi. Am I overgassed, or is this about normal? All FN, 14.5 PW.

I've seen where there are different gens assigned, but no idea on differences. But yeah, B1 appropriate. |

Ik the original car stock was aluminum then they went to composite before the 80s for the car15 and colt commando. |

I've seen a few pictures of sopmod's sporting the LMT L8A rear sight - which I love, but thought was a mk18 thing. Are these folks cloning examples seen in the wild, or just adjusting for personal preference?

My ACOG is almost here and I'm curious about mounts. It's got the standard TA51 mount on it, but what else is kosher? I've seen and used LaRue in the past, I've seen Bobro, I'm sure A.R.M.S. is out there but I've missed them I guess, but has Geissele been used? Not interested in GG&G or ADM.
Also, I looked high and low for a riser that's ACOG specific, but I can't find KRAM spacers anywhere. I guess I'll use a KAC tri-mount because everyone else's risers are 1/2" or LaRue at 5/8". Does anyone other than KAC make a less than 1/2" riser? |

If anyone is interested I am putting up my brand new Kac ras up for sale. It has the all the panels and the vfg. Everything is still in plastic.

I ended up just ordering a 6920 upper(16" barrel) and will probably send it off to JT @ Retro Works and have him cut it down to 14.7 and P&W the A2 back on for me. With a 14.7 he won't need to use an extended A2 or spacer. Arms Unlimited has the 6920 uppers for a pretty good price right now. |

Block 2s use the KAC RIS II handguards. Its also now the standard M4A1 MWS as the big Army calls it. CD |

Does a KAC FF RAS carbine vs M4 RAS change the designation at all? I know it's not a core item, but I keep leaning toward snagging a FF RAS.

So im not the most clone correct person.
But what am I looking at for a block 1 or 1.5 side sling mount. Side sling swivel on fsb I assume? Id prefer something like the cqd on the rear of the ras like the mk18 or even better a qd. Any clone correct options I should consider? |

View Quote From photos I have seen, it appears the Colt side sling swivel, under the FSB, is the correct front sling mount. At the rear it seems to depend on the stock. When mounting the side sling swivel, make sure it is mounted so the swivel will fold flat in the forward position, that allows the KAC panel to be slid off without removing the rail from the barrel. |
