M4 SOPMOD Picture Thread (Block I, 1.5/PR, II) (Page 235 of 240)
 My old duty rifle I recently changed a few parts on. Now has a factory colt 14.5 SOCOM barrel with a colt extended flash hider pinned and welded. Geissele SSA and a LMT SOPMOD (I bought two of them in the 2000’s for $75.00 for both). Usually has an old m600 scoutlight in a LaRue offset mount that’s been upgraded with a Malkof head. I know the sling probably doesn’t fit but I didn’t want to take it off. My favorite rifle and my go to. |

I think he got a kick out of it. Eventually we just took to hosing the entire weapon down with WD40, blow-drying it with compressed air, then re-lubing. So much faster, made the weapon look good (because that's important in a combat zone ), and got it really clean.

I also favor VLTOR IMOD, rubber butt pad included on those. You are referring to the original Modstocks, I assume. Waffles work okay for me, long in the toe, as you stated, agreed. And +1 on losing the sling loop. Thanks for your take sir. |

I also believe the TA31F was issued early on. There’s also an updated horseshoe dot TA31 variant the Marines used with BDC data printed on the outside of the body, but I don’t remember what that one was called. With that being said, I feel any TA31 variant fits the look. The only major difference is the reticle. Your last picture is blurry so I can’t tell what reticle yours has. The mount is the standard thumbscrew mount like yours has. The issued ones (and older commercial once’s) don’t have the Trijicon logo on them. If that bothers you, unmarked ones pop up on the EE from time to time for pretty cheap. Could also use a Larue as those have been used/seen. All that to say, I’d throw it on my Block I without hesitation. |

If you look at pics of delta from operation amber star you’ll notice they weren’t using fixed carry handles, they were using flat top uppers with detachable carry handles. |

SHORT Act has been added to the BBB along with the HPA. Call your Senators to support this gets passed! SHORT Act would remove SBS, SBR and AOW from the NFA. HPA would remove suppressors from the NFA. Only thing NFA would still require a TAX stamp for would be Full Auto and DDs. Clones getting closer! |

I finally finished my build! I decided to build this block 1 as if it was issued today. Basically I used all new parts. Started with Socom upper from Brownells, got a new KAC rail, Aimpoint Pro with caps to make it look like an M2 and was lucky enough to grab one of the new runs of the Wilcox mount. Everything is newly manufactured (2025). I’m very happy how this turned out. This is actually the first rifle I’ve built with all new parts! As cloners usually build with old beat up shit. Haha

Lots of nice clones here. Hopefully we won’t need to stamp SBRs in the near future but that’s for another thread. I am gathering parts for the last carbine I was ever issued and used on my last deployment in the Navy. Some parts coming and know exactly what I need with the exception of the optic. The weapons kit was issued with an Aimpoint CompM in a Wilcox Mount but don’t remember if it was a 2 or 3. This was 2013. Does anyone know which would be appropriate for this? Either? I had my custody receipt for the kit somewhere but can’t seem to find it now. |
