I wonder if we'll see SU-230 overruns ever again. I got lucky three and a half years ago with mine, but haven't seen any in a while.

Nope, but I find it hard to believe that they've ordered all they're going to use. It's possible, just seems impractical.

I'd sure like to get my hands on a 7.62 SU-230a Socom overrun for my eventual Scar 17.

Didn't you have one at one point Tmender? Or was that DocBach?

I dont think there's any FDE 762 units on the civi end.

I think I've seen them before (Overruns like my SU-230), but it wasn't here. Snipershide IIRC.

Yeah I know there are at least a couple that made it out. I could've sworn it was either Tmender or Doc that had one and sold it, so if it was you Tmender I think it was Doc. Needless to say I'm sure they command a hefty price, even by SU-230 standards.

I know for a fact that some SU-230As made it out. I actually had a chance to buy one NIB but went with the SU-230 instead. Now that I have a 17S CQC I wish I would have just gotten both.

In M4A1 Block II news, I scored a M4A1 RIS II and will be putting my spare RO921HB barrel to use. I scored a Badger Ordnance Mk12 gas block, too. Unlike the DD, the BO gas block has stainless set screws instead of the finished black ones from DD. It does say "NAVSPEC" on the packaging, though.

Here are a couple of pics (excuse the dog hair ):

I had a 7.62 marked gen 2 overrun but it had a 556 reticule. I know kerif had an actual su230a that someone in this thread got. I do have a gen 3 su230a but it's not the hd version.

When did they make FDEs in 1.5-6x?

I thought they only did that (FDE) for the 1-4 models?

It's new to me. The set I had prior were the newer solid-front design but had "shiny" screws instead of the darkened ones; same with my "Mk18" RIS II. This was the first I have seen of it.

For those with a G33, there is a Wilcox mount for the G33, Aimpoint 3x, Pvs-14, etc. in the EE for $65. It doesn't come with the dovetail attachment for the magnifier, but I bet the guys at TNVC could help with that. The mounts normally run about $450-$500. That's with the dovetail though.

I sent that guy a pm saying I wanted the Wilcox mount BUT after doing some research I'm thinking that is the left handed Aimpoint mount. Trying to figure out if the dovetail pieces would be interchangeable now and IF that would be such a bad thing.

I almost like the idea of using my left hand to pull it to the left side. Wouldn't have to take my trigger hand off the grip or un-shoulder my rifle.

OK I'm stumped. I can't figure out what mount that is. I've got the part number but it simply doesn't come up anywhere.

Wilcox part number 55900603 is what I was given. I kinda wondered if the 6 might not be a G as that seems to be the format of other mounts but both 55900603 or 55900G03 don't bring up that mount.

The shoe is universal, although I'm not sure about it being a left handed model as it appears to be. They make different dovetails for different optics and they all interface with the mount he's selling. Flipping it to the left if you're right handed will block your left eye's field of view. You don't want to do that. You may be able to flip it around though and mount the dovetail backwards on the optic. I don't see why that wouldn't work as long as there's enough room behind the optic to clip the magnifier in from the front of the mount. It doesn't need a whole lot of room though because you kind of slide it in from the top and push down. Hard to explain, but I think it'd work.

Trying one of these out. I ditched the TD grip a month or two ago because it was a pain to shoot from a sandbag rest but still felt like I wanted something more than a smooth rail... We'll see if I like it or not.

Just too much money tied up into one optic - I sold it to help fund my SCAR 17.

Also, I like the TA01 reticle better than the Civilian Specter recticle - the TA01 has a more precise reticle without the ranging crap that takes up the lower left like the Specter reticle - it's too busy for a short to medium range carbine optic.

The TA01 has the cross hair with the BDC marks - it doesn't have anything outside of that - I like that.

What about the TA31 pushes you toward the TA01? I'm curious because I need to make an optic decision on my Block II, I was dead set on the Elcan but now I'm dead set on one of the ECOs. I just need to decide which.

I just found I didn't need the daytime illumination that the TA31 offers - besides (and yes, I know you can tape the fiber) the daytime illumination would distort the very center of the reticle making it difficult to be more precise at longer ranges.
