idk but to be honest I've contemplated selling off my tan flip mount one only because the IR function does no good for what I use it for.

Step 1: Sell bronze WMX for many monies.
Step 2: Begin an HK416 clone like I did.

Step 3: Profit.

I still can't even use my right hand so no point in putting together another build lol.  I don't really get a hardon for 416s either really.

For the price of an ACOG w/ MRDS, you could save a little more dough and get an Elcan for ultimate correctness.
What does your current set up look like?

You're absolute right about the price.  I'm looking to get a used Acog mrds combo.  Been seeing those around 1k.  My current setup.

I remember seeing this rifle and I really like it in this 'simple' configuration.

I also have pictures of mine with an ACOG, too, which I think looks magnificent.

I now have an FDE Elcan on it, ATPIAL and light, as you can see pages behind.

I am here to remind you that sometimes, less is more. I am not at all convinced that by adding a whole lot of crap I made mine better.

With the sole ACOG, for example, I think it looked terrific (not even installing backup sights). Just pure and simple.

Food for thought.

ETA: slightly different pic (filtered) than posted before (to avoid reposting stuff; been scolded on m4carbinet.net yesterday for posting different pictures every few days and it disgusted me to the point of unregistering there)

Your rifle is very similar to mine, a few posts up, that's my favorite configuration of a Block II. I've never used an Elcan, but that would be my next choice for an optic, but that's well beyond my budget for this rifle as of now.

I like it a lot.  I initially wanted the Docter but I'm glad I went with the MRDS.  I much prefer the interface of the MRDS and switching the battery is a lot more convenient.  I'm on the hunt for a Burkett mount so I can remove it off the ACOG.

Block II wins hands down, much lighter, way easier to maneuver and handle. I'm considering getting something with more magnification for the Recce, and letting the Block II have the Mark 4, since I really like it having a variable optic, and making a PR/AFSOC clone to put the aimpoint on.

I said I would keep the previous configuration as definitive, but that was a filthy lie (and I am still waiting on a BCM A2X flash hider, that I do prefer to the current DD A2X)

ETA: I do want to say what I've done; what I do to these is exclusively for the looks. I am into the looks of these fine, US Military (looking) firearms. So - basically - by pulling back the Elcan (now FDE) I think the rifle looks a lot better; it's a matter of image weight balance, really.

Grip is also the more commonly seen ('in the wild') Hogue rubber. It's got something of a classic look I really dig.

I am always fighting the looks of the lights, instead. I am more and more tempted to not have a light. Love the look of the PEQ all the way to the end of the rail.

Thanks guys. Just got a bunch of SOPMOD stocks, just to try 'em on and see. So far I like 'em (two B5s in coyote and one LMT in black).

For the sling, I can't stand the brand new ones, flashy looking. Do have one VCAS (in green); will stomp on it in the mud and try it on.

For the sling, I can't stand the brand new ones, flashy looking. Do have one VCAS (in green); will stomp on it in the mud and try it on.

B5 SOPMOD (the smaller, newer version, probably never used in the wild)

FWIW, I liked the MOE stock on that rifle better, I don't care for B5's coyote color.
Thanks Nate.
I think the SOPMOD gives it (again) another type of balance, visually.

But you've seen me so far; I think I got it down to a definitive configuration and bam, two days later it's something else.

It's part of the fun for me with this hobby. I change parts on guns as my daughter changes barbie's clothes!

;)

ETA: I do want to say what I've done; what I do to these is exclusively for the looks. I am into the looks of these fine, US Military (looking) firearms. So - basically - by pulling back the Elcan (now FDE) I think the rifle looks a lot better; it's a matter of image weight balance, really.
Grip is also the more commonly seen ('in the wild') Hogue rubber. It's got something of a classic look I really dig.

I am always fighting the looks of the lights, instead. I am more and more tempted to not have a light. Love the look of the PEQ all the way to the end of the rail.

This right here is sexy as shit. I'm totally feeling that Hogue grip. I never considered one, but it looks great. Have you considered an S&S precision scout light mount? I think it would be sick on your rifle. Super low pro.

Thanks brother,

I have; but I didn't want the long model that used to be seen on the 416; I wanted the small one that can't be found (and not the fixed one, the rotating one). I agree with you, it would be the apex for this kind of look!
