Page owned! Stamp arrived! FINALLY. Time to make some modifications, and fed b5 or LMT? G33 coming soon, grip may stay due to comfort, but idk

Guess I might as well start with one of my 11 rib panels and trim to fit. Thanks!

Congrats on the stamp!

I wish my RC and F1 stamps would hurry up. I guess I was a little optimistic thinking 6 months on my RC stamp. Despite quite a few people reporting 6 months (or even 4 months), NFA tracker is still listing individual F4s at 217 days and F1s at 234 days. My FFL/SOT said that's about what he's seeing as well - roughly 8-9 months. It's only been 156 days on my RC stamp and 106 days on my F1. Sigh.

Personally, I would ditch that grip for an A2 or A1. The angle/shape kinda throws off the lines of the gun. Besides, a shaved Colt A2 or an A1 is pretty comfy.

My RC was 11/28, so we're pretty close. You better not get it first :\.

And I wish I had an NT4 I was waiting on, lol.

I did a quick search and found many different shades/ light and dark, of tan eo 553. Must be the nature of anodizing. Different runs came out slightly different. That's the best answer I can think of.

Do you look at their rolling 3 and 12 month data or the graph? The rolling data isn’t accurate because it averages data from yesterday and 3 months or 12 months ago, and those value are very different. The graph is at around 172 days, people are starting to get them back with checks cashed in November. I’ve got a check cashed date of 12/21.

Lol. Between the grease that will undoubtedly make a gun seize up immediately, added to the known fact we only use our guns for taking Instagram pics... this just isn't adding up ;p. I call shenanigans!

Hmm. Now that you mention it, I'm not sure. I just was looking at whatever graph pops up when you google "NFA tracker", lol. I'll look again.

Damn you, getting my hopes up again. Dare I hope for more than glory (or an approval in 20 odd days)? Such mad hope, but there it is.

Same lol. I think the longest I’ve gone is a couple range trips without cleaning, with a period of months in between. And found some surface rust on my bolt afterwards. (This was in winter and the gun was exposed to moisture only from an open window ever)

After that I went back to my ways of cleaning after every shoot, mostly just to inspect everything and preventative maintenance.

I know the feeling. I traded my PEQ for the block 2 CQBR I have and the previous owner shot it only suppressed and didn’t believe in cleaning. It was by far the filthiest upper I’ve ever had to clean (like the pic you posted but crusted and caked dry instead of goopy)

It was so bad I even documented it here. Took a couple days to clean it completely

Eh, not something to worry about.

I hose down my AK-74 variant with water after every shooting due to the corrosive ammo shot through it. I just dry it well and then oil up well, never any issues.

Yeah, I usually don't go this long between cleanings, but after putting it off a few times, I suddenly realized a week or two ago, "Damn, it's been 1,200 or 1,300rds since I cleaned or lubed." All of it was Wolf 62gr HP :\.

Not a single malfunction, though. At this point it seems almost a shame to clean it, lol. I did give it a little fresh grease last night, though; I'm not a monster!

Ugh, at least the carbon on mine is mixed with grease. I'd hate to have to clean a baked on version of that above photo, lol.

Once my RC is approved, though... then we'll really see how dirty I can get it :D.

When I bought my LT Costa, I wanted to see what a high end rifle would do. Other than a bore snake to knock out fuzzies and oil to keep her lubed up, I've never cleaned it. I've owned it for just over 4 years now.

I actually had a CSM in Iraq that would stand at the entrance of the DFAC and kick people out if their weapon was "dirty". There would even be guys that lived outside the wire or units passing through and he would boot them. And this was before nice, sealed up trucks with good HVAC existed so everyone was filthy all the time.

That's partially true. If you're running some heavy/thick ass wheel bearing grease and it's 5°F out, sure, you'll probably run into problems. My Block II ran just fine on Slip EWG for more rounds than I can remember with temps ranging from just below freezing to 95°+. If you're using the right kind of grease you'll be jist fine.

I was this way when I first got into AR's. If I ran a mag or two through the gun, it was right back inside to clean it. Not anymore, though. Realized that it's a waste of time.

Also learned that it isn't necessary to clean nearly as much since switching to brass case as it was when I shot steel case exclusively. I've just under 2k rounds through a new SR-15 and it's cleaner than my beater that's only had 500 rounds of Tula put through it since it's last cleaning. Never realized just how much cleaner decent brass case ammo was than steel case. Night and day difference when you can triple the amount of rounds you put through a rifle before starting to feel bad about not cleaning it.

Can? No. They're still forbidden here.

But I do have a Warden and a trainer can, and they both leak major carbon behind the collar.

Starting the bids at $1, I might have to keep an eye on that.

I half suspect that a lot of you guys are running the WMX airsoft clone

Oh.

You big silly man you. Just got back from the range and broke in the Shield. Little over 100 rds of Win white box, Rem UMC, and Aguila mixed. 1 stove pipe with white box but ran flawlessly other than that. When I racked the slide a live round came out (and I think an empty as well but not positive, didn't pay enough attention) so idk.

Yeah, I saw it. I swear, I could actively check EE posts for 6 hours straight, slack off for 5 minutes and that'll be the 5 minutes something good comes along. Every. Fucking. Time. Better yet, I've had it where I've watched it daily for almost a week, then on the one day I go shooting and don't have any service, that's the day something good comes along. Then after I miss something, I get super diligent about checking for a while, and naturally nothing good comes along; then the whole process starts all over, haha. Somehow it knows. It's taunting me.

I'd been checking fairly regularly today, but of course a goddamn G33 for $275 - tanodized no less - comes along when I'm not looking. Missed it by about 15 minutes :\.
