Don't let the low price and "made in China" fool you - the more expensive conversions are using, as far as I know, the same Cree LEDs. You can drop them directly in a 6P or M951/952 and it'll work, but the fit and function is much better if you sand off the ridges on the aluminum heatsink and custom fit it. It will allow much better heat transfer and you can run them on a more or less 100% cycle. The heat transfer isn't as efficient with the tiny machining ridges on them as they come from the factory, and they're usually a bit tight so that the bezel doesn't screw down all the way (plenty of o-ring coverage and usable, but sanding is the better way to go). I've been using them a couple of years now on a regular basis and haven't had one fail. All the bulbs I got were very good quality with an excellent mix of spill and throw, no shadows in the hotspot and a nice clean white. Unfortunately, the seller I used to buy from doesn't seem to sell them anymore, but the above link is the same model. Should be GTG. ETA: If you want to get really fancy, you can take off enough of the aluminum heatsink to allow it to be wrapped in copper foil and still fit; that'll give you about the best possible heat transfer. There used to be a guy on Candlepowerforums that sold LEDs already modded and machined down smooth to accept a copper foil heatsink, but I'm not sure if he's still around. Either way, I don't really feel it's necessary; I can run my 6Ps constantly until the battery dies and it's fine. |

What up fellas...rethinking my Tan 3-0 purchase. Thinking about saving a little cash to put toward an M300 light/tape switch and going with the black 2-0 (why don’t they offer it in tan?!).
Is the 2-0 clone correct enough (what if I Cerakote it tan)? I’ll never own NODs, so at this point I’m paying $100 for the tan color. Working on my Mod 0 finally! Just need to find a Colt lower that doesn’t cost me my first born.

If you're rolling your own prints like ya should be (or keeping digital copies like I do - which is the same thing SS is doing), it's really not that much easier. You're going to want to go to your dealer and check it out anyway, and it's an extra 5 minutes of signing papers if your dealer knows what he is doing; from the customer perspective filing individual, the actual F4 is like a shortened 4473 in reality. Doing a trust is only a minor bit more complicated. Afterward, pop your prints, pics and check in a flat-rate USPS envelope and CLEO copy in a regular envelope, mail it all at the same time and you're done. Easy peasy. And if your dealer is handling the mailing, you only need to show up with your prints, photos and payment method (and trust docs if you're going that route). Personally, I prefer mailing it myself because I don't have to wonder if it got done. |

Once you have one or two good cards, they can be scanned and reused multiple times. There is no CLEO signature required, but there is a CLEO notification required. That consists of sending the pages marked "CLEO copy" on the F1 or F4 to the agency/person you listed on the form. There are multiple "ready-made" trusts available online, which is what Silencer Shop is offering. You can even use them for a basic trust package (or use one of the many paid or free NFA trust templates floating around out there). For the most part, unless you have special considerations or requirements, a trust is pretty straight-forward (and it can always be amended later if needed). Any plain black ink pad will work. I got mine at Office Max or Office Depot. Unfortunately, only Form 1 is available for eFile at the moment; ATF claims to be working on the F4 with a vague estimate of it going online sometime in 2019. I wouldn't hold your breath, lol. |

I've been using them a couple of years now on a regular basis and haven't had one fail. All the bulbs I got were very good quality with an excellent mix of spill and throw, no shadows in the hotspot and a nice clean white. Unfortunately, the seller I used to buy from doesn't seem to sell them anymore, but the above link is the same model. Should be GTG. ETA: If you want to get really fancy, you can take off enough of the aluminum heatsink to allow it to be wrapped in copper foil and still fit; that'll give you about the best possible heat transfer. There used to be a guy on Candlepowerforums that sold LEDs already modded and machined down smooth to accept a copper foil heatsink, but I'm not sure if he's still around. Either way, I don't really feel it's necessary; I can run my 6Ps constantly until the battery dies and it's fine. |

Guys any tips on mounting a surefire flash hider to ensure the RC suppressor wont hit the DD rail? Should I add extra shims to get a little more space? Or is installing it normally and just timing the notch at the bottom enough?
Here is mine hand tight with just the beveled washer on it.
