Are Magpul's VFG viable compared to Tango Down & KAC?
Tango Down stubbys are hard to find and go quick.

Totally. It’s so easily changed at the user level I’d hardly fret over it.

Here’s one on a 14.5 I was able to hastily find:

ETA: Stukas87’s gun:

Another pic he took I believe:

I don't think that's the right can. Looks like a 212 that got the SOCOM latches.

And F CCC

*ETA and if I'm right, that's super deceptive marketing. Theres a stock photo of an RC2 in there.

Not the same can, and I hope you didn’t buy from them. CCC likely bought 10 of those from arms unlimited, AU was selling those for 599.

Also those are not new. Lol CCC is such a ripoff, shady practices.

Yikes!  Yeah, it's probably an RC2 for sale.  The part number in the ad is a 212.

I got my FDE RC2 from a local class 3 dealer for way less.  That is nuts.

No, bought my FDE SOCOM one from AU a year and a half ago. And on a closer look it's pretty obvious that the FDE in the ad isn't what it's advertised as.

For reasons not quite clear even to me, I wanted another - I just didn't have any justification for it beyond "hard to find" and "good deal" :\.

The only vague thing might've been a 14.5" Block II at some point, and I'm sorta indifferent on that. Otherwise, it would've just been a spare, which seemed a touch extravagant when the RC can be rebuilt. Now, if I hadn't just shelled out for the NT$ a few months ago... different matter entirely. The unfortunate thought did cross my mind a few times that for $67.99 more than I paid for the NT4, I could've bought two more RCs, lol. Even with tax stamps, only a $267.99 difference. Damn you, NT4 with your hard to justify expensive goodness.

Almost glad that temptation is over - it was a near thing 'til the end.

When cloning, "hard to find" and "good deal" are all it takes to justify dropping hard earned cash. I'm still a little uneasy about the purchase, but deep down im ecstatic. I've just gotta sell some things to offset the cost and I'll be comfortable with the purchase.

I’m in the exact same boat krdt. I wanted one, added it to my cart and then I hesitated. Same thing - if I just hadn’t bought a NT4 I would’ve been all over it. Kinda glad and a little disappointed they went out of stock. Slept on it last night, woke up this morning was thinking I was gonna snag one and they were OOS. Made the decision a whole lot easier.

Nah, you got an RC at a very good price - nothing to be uneasy about. You want something that'll really have you second-guessing your decision making, get an NT4, lol.

An aac m4sd at $495 was also very very tempting. Had I seen they were back in stock at silencershop, I probably would’ve went that route. $700 with the stamp is pretty hard to beat, although not clone correct.

I honestly thought the same thing. A while back someone asked and when I told him what I thought was correct, I was quickly corrected with pics and instructions from kac. Realistically it locks into place either way you do it. But when the tab is under the hg retainer, it cants the hg slightly. Only a problem if yer running lasers. After installing the hg this way, I can see how it is the correct way. I believe the m5 ras might have a tab too.
