Great score, @Conner378. Hey, speaking of Insight WMX200s, there's a mint one prime for the taking--currently sitting on display on an FN Scar 17S. All you have to do is visit the National Navy UDT-SEAL Museum in Fort Pearce, FL and create a diversion so that you can access the glass display case. While you're there, grab the one-off SEAL logo engraved EOTech EXPS3-0 with unique color-matched anodizing on the hood and and QD lever, the old school EOTech 551, the MK23 suppressed pistol, all the PEQ variants you could ever want, and then drive out of there in the kitted out, flat tan TOYOTA Hilux Technical with Safari snorkel and custom, long-travel Eibach coilover suspension with a matching tan MX bike in the truck bed--complete with AOR1 patterned seat. And yes, this place was awesome. The highlight was climbing around the Mk V Special Operations Craft (SOC). Great addition to a family vacation.

Thanks, I think thats what I’ve always liked about the military’s Toyota setups and tried to use with mine. They always have just what you need and not overdone like a like a lot of peoples off-road rigs. Saw these guys on my hunting trip back home last September in Nevada, ODA doing some training with some cool toys.

Speaking of classic Colt quality, I decided to go back to the ol' trusty M4 waffle stock and picked up a new, take-off from the EE. I've had a few of these over the years and my last one fit nice and snug with no slop. This one? Lots of slop. I hate slop.

That AFG was gutted! I don't remember seeing the camo paint, is that somewhat recent?

eta- got one of the final components today and was able replace my rear sight with an LMT l8a courtesy of @Bhavin22. Last thing I will prob do is find a colt bcg to replace the sabre defense bcg. Sabre's are used, but I just want a colt for the mod0. Prob put the sabre in my eod clone. I'm pretty happy with how this build has turned out. The grey color of the older components was a bonus.

Guys, UID tags. Square or rectangle?!

I got the square style from CLW a while back but I’m seeing most of you with the rectangles. I see they have at least 2 different rectangle versions, which is more correct or widely used?

This homebrew AFG seems better. It's like the OEM is Windoze & this one is Linux.  No bloat.  I should get one of those printers and see who's got a file for such things.

Circle, square and rectangle are good. I asked the same question, and I think if you go rectangle, use the one under "classic army". The other rectangle looks almost exactly the same though so in the end either rectangle one works.

On the subject of the Mk12 gas blocks, years ago the only gas blocks I used on my AR15 builds were gas blocks from Daniel Defense before I jumped into the Mk18/CQBR clone game.

At the time they had 2 versions (still do I think) of the low profile blocks, one with set screws and the other a clamping type.

The one with the set screws wasn't always called the Mk12, right? To the best of my recollection, I think it was just called and advertised as simply a "low profile" gas block.

Are they basically the same thing, or is the Mk12 a completely different design and spec?

The MK12 gas block is a made of a certain (416) stainless steel.

It is machined.

Most other stainless gas blocks are made of investment cast 17-4 stainless steel and many gas blocks are carbon steel or chrome moly steel and not stainless steel.

IIRC, DD used to have a generic low profile gas block with set screws. If so, it and their clamp on gas block were never issued. The Mk12 is way taller since it was never meant to go under a rail. Their pinned gas block without set screws is issued, but only on the URG-I.
