It's so hard to take you seriously with that avatar lmao.

But it is better than the ass crack avatar.

Tope! Has your backwards CQD front fallen off yet or wear a hole through your RIS II? Mine's still good.

I'm going to have to paint one of mine now. I saw a European SOF group at Bagram with painted USPs and G36s. Wonder if II was the Poles.

Might have been Czech dudes. It was on my way back to HI, so March 2012. Bagram was a cool place to see lots of different weapons.

Even if some part doesn't have a NSN #, it's surely possible that someone somewhere acquired it through other means and slapped it on a 10.3" upper.

But some people really like staying as true to the SOPMOD kit as they can and cloning a rifle that way. Good for them, it's their rifle. Some people don't give a shit about the SOPMOD kit and like cloning different configurations they've seen "in the wild" in pictures. Good for them, their rifle. Some people get hung up on what direction to install their sling mount LOL. As absurd as that is — good for them, it's their rifle.

We've seen plenty of non Block II shit hanging on mil rifles (Surefire lights, Aimpoints, PEQ-15s, random rails, etc…) But, if someone really wants to clone a rifle and stick to only SOPMOD accessories, what's the harm? (Other than their wallet)

Anyway, this whole "correct/incorrect" discussion seems really pointless. We know what's in SOPMOD, we have the PowerPoints. But SOPMOD is just one of many ways to acquire accessories, and overall probably represents a small percentage.

That said, there's still some things that remain HIGHLY unlikely to ever appear on a .mil rifle, like a cerakoted billet lower for example. So, there is still some reasonable, common sense guidelines to keep a thread like this somewhat focused.

As for rear sling plates, the CQD plate is "spec" for the Mk 18 lower, as installed by CRANE. For CQB uppers that get stuck on issue M4A1s, I don't think there's really a "spec" sling plate. Seems to be a huge range of them and even none at all seems to be most common. As far as I can tell there's no standard for that, nor has their ever been. These uppers are getting put on M4 and M16 lowers from all over every branch of the US military.

I had my threads mixed up. This is what Milspec556 & I were referring to:

Now I guess your surefire theory is blown the fuck open by this point. Stop spreading misinformation just because you're butthurt.

Again, I just see it differently. Just because you see guys using them because they paid for them out of pocket doesn't mean it's part of the Block II parts list. They're approved for use and all and granted they're fine lights but "clone correct" as I see it means cloning what is issued (WMX200 or M3X).

Related case in point; I still had two members (one I think got Postal0311's original clone thread locked & that sometimes the quickest to seriously advise you what is correct & what is not based off what they read on Wikipedia & research books) tell me that I didn't carry a non-personally purchased TA31ECOS-G / RMR because it was not on the SOPMOD list & they hadn't seen them in a photo from the Internet. However, I concur with you, Tiny, with regard to some folks mentioning of correct/incorrectness being pretty much poiintless to most. These clone threads have been active long enough for most not even "in the know" to be able to discern the parameters of what type of parts / accessories are being or have been fielded. That is all I'm referring to. I'm not trying to rehash the habitual arguments.

Where are you guys getting spare bulbs for the Insight M3X? I see M3Xs for cheap on eBay but can't find bulbs. I have a M3, are the bulbs the same? So tempted to buy a couple M3Xs and more M3s, but not if bulbs are unobtanium.

Shouldn't be any reason why they wouldn't....I have several rifles with set screw blocks and have had zero problems....if you want, its really easy to dimple the barrel a little.

That's the kind of money that you can just tell anyone and everyone to fuck off, right?

Ah yes... sweet, sweet telling people to fuck off. That's the ticket.

No...no... That's fuck you money you seek.  I would; however, prefer pajama money.

I honestly don't know exactly what "fuck off" money entails. I'd like to though. Recently acquired a new biz that's relaunching soon. Hopefully I soon will.

If that's the case, I'll get all Oprah up in here...CQBRs for everyone!

I'm going to have to paint one of mine now. I saw a European SOF group at Bagram with painted USPs and G36s. Wonder if II was the Poles.

When were you there? I saw the Chech's last year. Only one Elcan the whole month I was there (before Kuwait), and it was black and looked like the civilian model.

Polish GROM uses M4s and Polish Army uses the Bertyel (sp?) 5.56mm AK variant made by Radom. I've seen to different Polish 9mm pistols that were home grown (wz88 and WIST-94).  They don't use USPs  Czechs are still carrying vz58 rifles and CZ P01 pistols.   I would think that they were German troops as those are their standard issue (P8/G36)

I have the non clone correct 3x on mine and love it.  The only item I would lose sleep over swapping for the clone correct optic.

If a part is in the military supply chain and has been ordered, then I'm sure someone somewhere has slapped it on a 10.3" upper. There's nothing "incorrect" about it.

Idk, I must think differently.

I keep up with this and the BII threads just to make sure my issue weapons are clone correct.
