Was able to get to the range after work yesterday to sight in.  I was hesitant to build a 11.5 upper because I've always (15 years) run 10.5 and now 10.3 uppers.
Every time I built a 11.5 or that matter 12.5 upper it was always sold off or traded for something else.
So,  along came the G Federal rail.  In true AR15 fashion I bought one.  I tried to buy a FBI/Colt heavy barrel but was put on the waiting list from the Monday after Thanksgiving.   Being impatient I found a Daniel Defense 11.5 barrel for $240 delivered from a vendor here.
Colt upper, lower, bolt group
DD 11.5 barrel
Troy sights
T1 in Larue,  in my world Geissele and Larue co-exist
Gen 1 LMT
H2 and carbine spring

DD states they use a .069 gas port on their current 11.5 barrels.
This combo runs very smooth with full power 5.56.  Ejection was consistant
3:00-3:30.

I like it!  I'll keep this one.

Although the green rail is so sexy, has anyone been able to confirm that HRT are color coded tan? Also, why am I seeing so many Eotechs on what appear to be HRT guns? Are Eotechs issued to HRT while T1s and Sig Romeos to regional SWAT?

Still have some work to do but spent some time yesterday between fishing and working on some tile work to pull the 14.5" barrel and throw down the 11.5" barrel and install the rail.   Still working down the VFG and PG but may leave the stock/PG/VFG all black and the main rifle parts green or may just go all out and get all green.  Also had to order a gas block dimple jig from midway since this barrel didn't have any dimples at all.   I was hoping to run it today and shake it out but I am remodeling one of our showers and I am something like 6 days into a job I should have called a pro to do 7 days ago.     hopefully tomorrow

One of the colt tubes that showed up in the EE a few weeks ago.

Also picked up an FDE one.

Does Sig have a Romeo 4 with the cross reticle with  the eotech style ring around it? And can anyone find one on amazon for a good price? I came into some gift cards over the holidays. Also a good mount for the Romeo. I decided to put the handguns on a 10.3” barrel that came with an Aero Precison upper. Should I still try and use the Govnah gas block on this build or would a regular gas block with saker suppressor not be too gassy?

Absolutely love it, it’s not as bright as a razor/Aimpoint bright... but 100% useable.

With the 11.5” DD barrel I was getting about 1-1.5moa groups at 100yards with 62gr. Reman ammo.

I run it suppressed with a springco red and h3 and it’s sewing machine smooth.

I got my invoice today from Shark Arms for a HRT Profile Barrel (I added myself to the list very late like mid December) - This has been a pricey build...

ok,

My build is about to start. I got deal on a 11.5 Colt Barrel stamped C MP 5.56 NATO 1/7. No Cage Code or other Stamps. Not sure if it’s a Commando or FBI HRT Barrel.

I have a Colt Upper on the way. Will probably run a gas block since I intend to run it with a Supressor.

It will sit on a Colt Law Enforcement Lower that has been SBR’d.

My Fed Rail says OD Green. It’s pretty darn dark.

I’ll be going with OD Furniture and an EOTECH EXSP 3.0

That’s a Commando Barrel. Build will come along nicely with that lower.

So I’m on the wait list at S.A.C. as well haven’t heard anything yet from Chris but I’ll stay patient. I did order a few... planning on waiting so I can amass more scratch for the optic. I’m wondering what all other pics does anyone have of ACTUAL rigs that are being run. The few that I have seen are all wearing either a T-1/2 in a SPUHR Mount, SIG Romeo or an EXPS-3.

I intend to throw a T-1 on a Geissele 1.93” mount because I have fallen in love with that set up. This won’t be a perfect Clone because I’m just not going to go balls to the wall especially since I just got rid of my Colt Lower and don’t intend to hunt and go through all that Jazz again. It’ll just sit on a Spike’s FLHTF Lower and be done with it.. Upper will be Completely Correct aside from Optic Mount - all Colt and Geissele though with a 99051 Front (still deciding between 300m or 600m KAC Rear)

I just really want to see more ACTUAL pics of some HRT Rigs.

Thanks!

Seems like the whole SWAT Team down there are running H-2’s... interesting

Seems like the OD CTR is closet to correctness. I’ve seen some FBI SWAT local to me (CFL) with SOPMODs, CTRs and Colt waffle stocks but it seems every photo that I’ve seen of actual HRT are all with CTRs...

That being said I may just run a SOPMOD after the FORM 1 for this Lower clears... I just can’t help it. I’ll have to go all out on the upper and just take it on the chin with the Lower. My Upper may just have to be my saving grace to “as close to clone” as I can get... lol

Yeah I can’t bring myself to use a non-SOPMOD so it’ll be an OD SOPMOD for me. (My lower is already Form 1’d so I’ll just be sliding off the black SOPMOD on there now.)

I finally received my front sight so I was able to rebuild my 6920 SBR. I like the Mk4 Fed rail waaay better than the URX II that it replaced. I was able to get a quick range trip in today to functions test and sight in the irons and 512.

I’ll probably get a Surefire Scout and the Inforce can go back on my Scorpion. I’m pleased with my shade of green.

I balked at picking up one of these rails during the sale but after reading through this thread I knew I had to find one. Fortunately I got one off the EE for a very reasonable deal. I already have 90% of the final product in my parts bin. Just waiting on an upper from Stag as the previous was slick side.

The ACH was purchased over a year ago and I used it for a short time. Supposedly its fde but looks more green so it goes great with the rail.

Eventually I’ll find a correct receiver set and do this thing right.
