Thanks gents!

Engineer5, I really like the SU-230 on the URG-I. It's no ATACR 1-8x but I was able to hit man size steel consistently kneeling out to 600m with M193 and M855; the bdc is pretty spot on too!

Finally got a lower for my URG-I. I've only had the upper sitting in the safe since 11/2018 I was looking for a stripped Colt SOCOM lower but was only finding complete rifles for obvious reasons. AU had those Colt M4 lowers come and go a few times and I was finally able to snag one. The price sucked but oh well, $500. I remember when they were $300, should have bought several back then.

I pretty much have all the parts to complete, sans optic, or so I thought. Got a BCM QD end plate coming and a Odin Works ext mag release.

Saving up for optic and mount. I really want the NF ATACR 1-8 but might settle for a NX. The new Razor would also be an option. I want a 1.93" mount AND 34mm tube which G doesn't make. Going to look at the Badger mounts, didn't know 1.7" was an option there. For now I have a Vortex StrikeFire II I'll run on it and maybe some BUIS so I can at least shoot it.

It's been a crazy ride with this "clone" since they were first announced. I've been building mine out as a PMC rifle instead of a Mil clone. If I was downrange on a contract what would I want on my rifle and what could you easily source and maintain from COTS items?

Does anyone have more details on why this is the case? Is it because of the rail bending or accuracy issues?

That is interesting. While I was at Daniel Defense a few weeks back I got to look at the rail system they submitted for the same bid. It was a big ugly but I'm sure if it were a touch more refined it would be a homerun!

If they would just make the MFR without a stupid lip on it, that would be great.

Im running a Geissele picatinny section, with my standard SF mounted to that. I needed mine to run on the 3 oclock rail, so I didnt mess with any of the more direct MLok mounts.

I use an Arisaka offset m-lok mount in FDE.

https://arisakadefense.com/collections/light-mounts-1/products/offset-scout-mount-m-lok

No association with them, just what I've seen others run.

I use the same. You don't have to disassemble the light to remove compared to the inline mount

So is the MK16 DOA? Is Geissele revising the rail for a gen 2? Or maybe .mil is simply going back to to RIS-II?

Soooooooo many questions

Speculating: I thought it was because they were switching to the 10.5" version with an 11.5" barrel?

These early Gen 1 B5 SOPMODs - anyone know if any are in stock anywhere?

Or have these completely dried up?

Wow!  I did a quick search and found the usual places Out of Stock.  I luckily have an old Black Gen1 B5 that I had to sand the inside because of the first contract tolerance mistake. Wish I could be more help.

My URGI came from him, receivered it 4 days after placing the order. I got the stripped upper for $838 since I had a BCG and a Warcomp already.

Only experience I had with him and it was good, however his stuff is crazy overpriced and is not well liked is much of the clone community.

Quick question.

What's the preferred clone BUIS these days? I've seen everything from nothing to KAC fronts to magpuls on the pics.

I have a 14.5" and a 10.5 I need to finish out.
