Issued URGI kits come the Geissele M-LOK sections?

Recently it seems like they have been much faster; in the past i once had one of those 1 month ship-time orders after a sale.  This weekend i ordered a SSA and received tracking already a day or so later.

For 2k retail price I don't see the value. For that amount I'd much rather buy the KAC SR15...

That said, my Black Friday (2018) order came in less than a week.

I agree. I buy from Brownells instead. Brownells mirrors the Geissele sales, and then allows the application of coupon codes and Active Junky Cash back. Normally a 10% off coupon, plus 4-8% cash back from Brownells through Active Junky. It makes those sale prices 14-18% lower, and Brownells is far superior on shipping and customer service.

Active Junky invite link in case anyone wants a free $10 - Link

Got my 10.3" URGI from Brownell's today and it did come with the H3 Super 42 as well as a golden ticket. Now I need to order two RC's I guess .

Cannibalized the lower and EoTech from my CQBR for the photos but it's going on a pistol lower for now.

The descriptions of the clone and near-clone URG-I uppers on the Geissele website list "SureFire SF4P 4 Prong Flash Hider" in the specs, so at least someone there knows the correct nomenclature.  I think I'd definitely want to confirm which one the Super Duty comes with before ordering, if I was expecting it to have an SF4P based on the photos.

I haven't been up to up to date on the URG-I uppers.  Do they still have the issues with rails shifting during drop test?

I've heard the gas block situation is a mix of both the DD Mk12 and the G super block.

I wonder how they ended at that conclusion, and how they choose which group gets what. Curious to see the GBs CD ends up seeing.

Any truth to the rumors of Geissele supposedly going with a steel barrel nut for the Mk16 as a remedy for the shifting? I've heard it from quite a few different people, but don't know if it's just bs.

I can see this making sense for the 13.5” rail. At this point it wouldn’t surprise me with the modifications they’d make to the rail or the whole system to keep it in the pipeline. I’m sure we’ll find out several years from now at this rate.

Jesus Christ...

I just looked wondered over to gieselles website to check them out and 1500 for a 14.5 mix master upper with no back up sights.  Get the fuck out of here, that's SR-15 upper money.  I noticed that Brownells dropped the price to around a grand which I don't think is that bad

Cool,

I would do that for a URG-I upper, I think its a pretty solid upper, but 1 nickle over a grand and I'll just pay the premium for a KAC.

As I read about the URGI, I understand that it has a .076” gas port and according to Geisselle is optimized for the higher pressures of the M855A1 and suppressed use. How is the reliability of this set up using normal pressure .223 and 5.56, particularly in extremely freezing or harsh environments with no suppressor? I’m tempted to get the Geisselle near clone URGI upper to dive back into the midlength game, but considering it is intended for a much higher pressure load, could this be less reliable than a carbine-gas gun with, say, PMC Bronze .223 or even M193, particularly in harsh conditions like North Dakota blizzards and filthy environments? I’ve had short stroking problems with a DD 14.5” mid using .223 in the cold before.

I don't use suppressors, so no added backpressure there.

I have 5 or 6 quarterly qualifications here in Alaska. On qual was -50’s shooting Winchester Ranger 62 gr soft point duty ammo. I have shot various ammo during practice to see if any issues creep up, non to report. All full power both 223 and 5.56.
