For guys running suppressed- what kind of buffer spring/weight are you running and do you get anywhere near 3 o'clock ejection? I've been running the VLTOR A5 with a Springco green and the H4- the heaviest weight they sell. I'm still slinging brass at about 1:30 or 2 o'clock. I thought the A5 would be the fix, but it's still gassy with the Sandman K on there. It's a pinned barrel, so I'm not really interested in pulling it off to go with an adjustable GB. Heck, if I was going to unpin it, i'd probably just buy a BRT optimum barrel and start over. Or maybe it doesn't matter since it runs 100%...?

It's fast but very light recoil. Doesn't blow you out like XM193 or M855. |

My mini nsw is choked with an 062 port gas block and I still run an h2 in it.
My mini holland has a t3 in it and it still throws brass into orbit. |

Badger recon.
I'm a badger mount guy. By far the best bang for buck. They're not cool, so can be had cheap on the ee. |

So I'm thinking my 11.5 build needs a mini recce makeover. Damn this thread .

Upper will be in the mail tomorrow headed D.Wilson to open the gas port just a tiny bit because low power ammo has been hit and miss with reliability. Also flush fit that urx2 for better fit.

Are most of you guys using the mid or long RAS? And what barrel lengths are you pairing with?

Just got the FF RAS ordered, probably going to order my scope tomorrow. Leaning towards trying the US Optic 1-8 in a Bobro, had one of their older scopes and the glass was unreal.
Colt lower, SSA-E, CTR (until SOPMOD), BCM Upper/Barrel, AAC 51T/M4-2000, Gasbuster, H3, etc... looking forward to getting it together and trying out a strap-wrench. |

Damn you guys with the Triarc setups. Just ordered an 11.5" Track 2.0 barrel and 10.75" Trilok rail. Thanks to Geissele for the refund

Even if I never move the optic around. Have you guys experienced problems with QD mounts? I always thought they were gtg if from a quality manufacturer, but now I'm second guessing. ADM and mi are literally just a locking lever on a cross bolt. To adjust for different rails, you have to push the bolt out of its captured position. Then it goes back to the captured slot, where the nut physically cannot move and the other end of the bolt is captured in the lever, which is locked shut, so it physically cannot move either. It seems like if they loosen over time it could only be from the steel in the screw "stretching" or the aluminum base itself compacting under pressure, which both seem extremely unlikely but would both happen just as much with a non-qd mount. Even Larue requires the bolt to be tensioned correctly to maintain it's grip on the rail, but there's nothing locking the tensioning screw in position, so maybe that could move over time with recoil? But yeah, I don't see how an ADM mount could loosen on its own at all. If that is actually a thing, hopefully someone can explain the mechanics to me because I don't see how it's mechanically possible. |
