I haven't really pushed it out past 100 yet anyway. Eventually I'll get something like the RH25 but I'll keep this as a redundancy. Something i like about it is that you can switch the rear lens and have a 1x standalone. Attached File I can only use it with up to about 6x so i consider it a companion to my PVS24. Attached File |

You can see on some of the other mini recce rifles i posted above i have several of them. On a 16" rifle gas setup i need to try a different plunger because max gas isn't enough on the standard plunger. But it comes with a couple plungers. I used paint marker to mark "suppressed" and "unsuppressed" si i don't have to try to remember for each gun. It's a straightforward concept that's well executed. If you want ADJUSTABLE gas, not just "dialed in one time" gas, then this is one of the best solutions on the market. |

I went with an SLR Sentry on my 12.5 .308 several years ago (I tend to use them on a lot of builds, especially non-5.56). I didn't know about RS at the time. I had it pinned to the barrel and had the port opened up that way I would have a larger range of gas settings to play with. I liked it for the same reasons you mentioned, like having defined detent settings not just a set screw. It just isn't as intuitive to know what setting you are on (basically have to remember number of clicks out from "closed") nor is it as easy to adjust when it is tucked under the handguard like I have it. |

So the price must be low enough for the quantity demanded. |
