AGREED!

I wonder if they took unsold mk4’s and re anodized them green then lasered federal on them to sell off old stock. I don’t know if you can even re anodize something but I always wondered if they did this.

Here’s my Grendel Mini Recce.  11.3 BA barrel and Medium RAS.  I usually run the 762SD, but I put the N6 on for the picture.

Took the words right out of my...fingertips!

I went shopping for the MK8, and I was all kinds of WTF?!  I am torn, and really want to change out my 3 Keymod rails.  One will be easy, with an NSR, but I need 3 more.

Fuck yes

12.5 should be here soon.  Just need Ron to spin a m4 collar.  Then decide between mk18 rail or G rail.

I swear my mini nsw rig is as heavy as my mod 1 lol

Considering they’ve never made Mk4s in 10” length, I’d say this theory is pretty well bunk.

@swamperator

Finally got the barrel in from Black River Tactical. I used the beveled spacer in the Surefire Warcomp kit and then began timing it with the Precision Armament Accuwasher kit.

Nice little kit, contains a series of precision washers each different width and you time your muzzle device. Only took me two test fits and found one that would both time the warcomp and give it the necessary clearance to clear. The fit is super tight, as tight as it can be and still allow the suppressor to mount fully with the collar in the unlocked position.

Not quite mini recce, I give you, the short recce:

Its not bad I bought it to make sure that LPVO's would work for me, but I would not buy another one. In that price range I believe there are much better options.

just started looking for my 14" barrel. Never heard of Black River before today, have you used them before? I like the profile, I have no idea what the hell they're talking about with the BRT gas drive (different gas port diameter that they named?), nitrided, and the price isn't bad. I'd be interested to hear how you feel about yours.

This is the first barrel of theirs I've used. There are some very favorable reviews on their older barrels. I picked this one out because of the length, mid gas and profile. The preorder came with a free gas block and a $30 up charge to pin it which I took advantage of. The polygonal rifling is interesting. The finish is very smooth and even. The threads were immaculate and the Warcomp threaded on like butter.

I previously had a Ballistic Advantage Hansen 14in carbine gas with a Geissele mk14 rail. I sold that once I got into SBRs. Then the black Friday sale happened and I saw the green mk16 and had to have it lol.

I really need to get this out to the range soon. Hopefully this week sometime.

12.5 guys - Anyone have experience with both the Daniel Defense and Criterion barrels?

One one hand, the CHF of the DD is a huge turn on, whereas the thin gov profile isn’t, which is making me consider the hybrid contour Criterion. Does either one shoot any better or worse than the other?
Link Posted: 1/16/2019 5:52:33 PM EDT
[Last Edit: ArmedFerret] [#32]
The DD will probably shoot VERY well.

The criterion will likely shoot better.

Edit:  Here's a video--albeit from Criterion's channel, so understand there "may" be a marketing slant

Okay, I made a couple changes to my 12.5.  Installed Triarc's new 11.5' Trilok rail.  Thought it was a good choice since I have the Triarc barrel..  And I have always liked the looks of the wedgelock rails.  This one has a steel QD insert.  I wasn't sure that it was possible, but this is actually thinner than the G Mk14 I had, just barely, like a mm but it is.  Put a magpul bipod attachment on the rail.  Im just waiting on my harris to show up.  This may be the final config for a while.

I'm really not sure, I was thinking maybe another upper, but I have 4 10.3/10.5 uppers in 556 and another 10.5 in 300AAC.  I may sell, or trade it.
Why you putting all this pressure on me???

Glass is great as is expected from NF.  Small FOV and unforgiving eyebox.  Center dot is big at 8x.  I'd probably prefer SFP on this scope, but that's what I'm used to.

That’s what I was afraid of...

Big center dot at 8x and small FOV at 1x make me want to look elsewhere. Not sure what else would look good. Razor or MK6 maybe.
