Does anyone have an older Leupold MR/T 3-9 instead of the new 2.5-8 scope? Is it the same body length and scope specs less the magnification range? I had one but completely forgot what it was like...

I have a 3-9 coming in the mail.  Everything looks to be the same as my old 2.5-8

Good news is that Fedex found the package.  It was delivered to the seller because they could not deliver it to my address.  Although, the address was correct on the box.  Fedex=Suck.

They're the exact same scope bodies. Even the magnification is technically the same. They just made a few small internal updates, the most significant of which was improving the eye relief.

ETA: Range report from today. Had the Mk 12 out today at the range smacking steel out to 500. There was no wind so it was almost too easy … couldn't miss :) I was using this ammo which I was a bit worried about the bullet drop difference from it and Mk 262, but it was plenty accurate and seemed to line up fine with my turrets. Still incredibly happy with this rifle system.

Has anyone done any Mk 12 shooting with a clip on? Either a -22, -26 or -27?

Great looking rifle. Congrats. What is that booklet you have laying on top of your rifle and where did you get it from?

Would ya'll rather use a non-illum 3.5-10x40 with .223 M3 1moa knobs or an illuminated 3-9x36 with M1 1/4moa knobs on a MOD H.

I figure they're about the same weight and mag range. But the extra power of the 3.5-10 might be worth it over the illum which i'll prob never use? Plus the better M3 knobs?

If they both have the same reticle; I'd rather have the 3.5-10 with M3's.

Doubt it. The USMC SAM-R and maybe their Mod 1s had a c am for 62gr m855, but it was not marked like in the picture.

Perhaps. I highly doubt that came from a .mil Mk12 simply because before Leupold sent their scopes out with the custom 77gr turret, guys were just using the stock .308 turrets. The Mk12 was built specifically for the 77gr Mk262 (or the round built for it, can't recall) so why would they build custom 62gr M855 turrets for it? Don't make much sense to me.

Our Mod Hollands have 300WM, 30-06, 308, and 55gr 223 turrets.  The turrets themselves don't really 'do' anything different than any other turret.  The MOA per click doesn't change, and the holds change all the time.  A good ballistic solver used to determine the actual holds and then printed to a DOPE card is what we actually use.  Just a couple of observations......

All that considered, I think I'm just gonna throw my .308 turret on and call it good. Thanks 18; your posts are always appreciated.

Well stated 18.  The turrets are simply for aesthetics for me.  A dope card and trigger time is paramount.

I tape my dope cards to my stock because I'm tier 0. Neil can tell you

With that said- does anyone have the mil dot version of this hold over pictogram? How does the standard leupold mil dot reticle line up in relation to the TMR? Is it basically the big hashes?

Sweet.

I have two versions of these holdovers that someone made. One has the 2,3,4,500 yard marks ON the mil's and one has them at the halfs. Can anyone confirm which is correct?

With the same info from the pic you posted, the 2,3,4  should be on the half mil if your using meters. Using the ballistics from that same pic, here's one with a USMC mildot.

Place holder for me as well. I'm going to have my Noveske Recce barrel turned down by ADCO to fit my Ops Break and Collar for a MOD H. This is what she looks like right now:
