I could really go for that configuration.

This one Mk12 only stance I've taken isn't going to pan out for me, is it?

You'd think after building somewhere between 7 and 10 of the things I'd finally have it out of my system...

It only takes ONE extra part to make 2....3....4.....lol

Doing the wormydog version is going to = mod 0 upper down the line. I already see it and the first wormydog part is just shipping to me now. Though i am NOT a "large AR collector", so thats good. If i am smart i will keep the #40/SPR PEQ rail/pri flip front sight assy to make a mod 0 as an "easy-bake mod 0" and leave the rest alone lol.

Edit: pic thread: im down with OPP.....other peoples paint.

Since it's accepted and I already have one I'm going with the NF on my mod 1. That leaves me able to buy another mark 4 since my mk12 build turned into my MK12
Mod 0 - early (thanks to Chenault)
Mod 0 - late ( thanks to Hunterex)
Mod 1
Holland (thanks to Chenault again and his photos)
Plus I just really like that scope.

Anyone tried the Winchester 5.56 77gr HPBT Match? It's 'rated' at 2750 fps and seems like an available Mk 262 clone. I received a case this evening...I'll be testing it through my BCM Mod 0 upper this weekend.

Alright all you Northeastern mk12 fuckers, Haveblue and I will be hosting our analual mk12 shoot at Consolidated sportsmans of lycoming county PA on the 7th and 8th of May. We will be blangin steel hopefully out to 700 if Britt can Clone Survivor that bitch up the side of a mountain to get steel up there at 700. If anyone is interested, hit either of us up. I will be driving around 5hrs to get there. It's gonna be worth it.
On another note, I will be driving to San Antonio in a few weeks, and will be there until September if there are any Southern Texans that know the good places. I have a lifted Wrangler, so getting to the cool spots shouldn't be an issue. Looking forward to spending my summer in a free land!

I'll paint the rings and the Vari-X III tomorrow.  Super excited.

I'm generally totally disappointed with the Winchester Match 77gr. I tested it alongside both IMI and Black Hills Mk262 today. Each corner is a 5 rd group labeled by ammunition. Each variety was fired prior to foul the barrel naturally. My rifle is zeroed for BH 262. It's a BCM Mod0 upper.

Today a friend and i went up the hill......

I did some math and based on a 15deg angle of incline we are looking at 640m/700yds to the new target. We have more clearing work to do. Good recon and work done today tho. Yes i took Mk Wilson up the effing Mtn! And i didnt fall down it either LOL.

Boots pic is 600yds down to firing line. Rainy and SUPER foggy today.

Good morning cloners. This weekend I obtained a MK-12 mod 0 from my best buddy and fellow ARFCOMMER. I have listed after it for years and now it's in my living room

Question for you guys: how sacrilegious would it be to change grips on a true clone? I am not a fan of the thumb shelf grip that is on the rifle, even though I know it is to-spec. I am a MIAD fan..... Opinions please!

Also, since we share a trust... I got the AEM5 can in the deal, I just had to give up my SiCo Specwar ....

As per the rules:

So this gun is special for me. My friend started the build in college and continued the project while working at Crane after finishing school. He pieces it together a little bit at a time and finished it last year with the AEM5, almost 10 years later. As far as I know, the only parts not "to spec" are the Vltor receiver and Atlas. Also it has a Geissele trigger instead of the KAC 2 stage, for obvious reasons... I fell in love with this gun in 2012 when we met and being a fan of the MK-12 rifle already I touched it every time I went over for beers, range days, etc... Here's the kicker... It didn't have a collar until last year. As such, he never fired it. It's a virgin Mod 0.

So Saturday we struck a deal involving a metric ass load of money and a SiCo Specwar. I couldn't be happier. Haven't put it down for 2 days!

This gun is like a child to me now guess I have 4 kids now.... I do plan on going FDE, most likely Magpul FDE duracoat. Can't bring myself to rattle can...

HaveBlue, I remember you from the Recce thread! You had a sweet Sprecce I cloned last year. Looks like we both upgraded! I love the holland!
Link Posted: 5/2/2016 8:13:58 AM EST

My first attempt at a Mk-12 inspired Sprecce, similar to HaveBlues old rifle. I was trying to get the essence of the Mk-12 and came up short... Didn't have the emotional connection as with the Mk-12.

Not premium components but it shot good. PSA upper/lower, no name 16" barrel, Leupold VX-r patrol, AAC can.

Very nice rifle! Not every day you can get the whole kit in one wack can and all. That grip is not spec, so you're gtg on changing it. As HaveBlue said, A1, A2, or Ergo are all 'correct.' Looks like the receiver's (upper and lower) are also not 'correct' along with the atlas you mentioned, and maybe that QD endplate. That said, it's yours man so enjoy it and do what you want with it, most important being shooting it!

From Wikipage on MK-12, I assumed it was correct... If not that's ok. I personally still consider it a clone, hopefully I won't get flamed too hard

It was sweet getting the whole package at once, indeed. I was gathering parts for another Recce but now I'm gonna do a 10.5" instead...

I say swap the vltor for a standard, forged upper, hit it with some paint, and call it a day.

Sell vltor upper on the EE, probably make a few bucks, and have a correct clone.
