Here's a quick and shitty pic of my recently completed Mk12 Mod1:

Not obvious components include:
-Gas buster charging handle
-Colt BCG
-Ballistic Advantage barrel

I'm looking forward to finally putting some rounds down the pipe!  And, rest assured, it will be painted.

+1000! I'm not the biggest Holland fan but this may have swayed me. Very well done. My Mod 1 isn't going anywhere and I was thinking about building a Recce but now i don't know. Oh well I've got more cans to buy right now anyway.

Funny part is: It is only a perfect holland for those 2 pics. Its had this yhm brake for my can on it for mnths now LOL. Shooting suppressed allows me to hear every hit. Hopefully i can grab a PRI peq and arms 40 for a deal at some point. Im checking spacing and i like what i see. Also checked fitment for a custom collar as well. Gonna go back to an H until i get all parts to make it visually right first.

You took a "not quite a mk12" and are turning it into an "even less of a mk12" ?

Everyone in here with A2 lowers and nodak A1's with no rollmarks...i just wanted to fit in with being dickered up LOL. After the last page i figured "inspired" builds were ok lol.

In 5 min i can have a 100% holland. Let the butt hurt happen. Doesnt mean its a permenant thing. Wheelman, i am doing checks for a wormydog style mod 0. Thats why its on there.

They're new, and haven't been shown the ways of the mk12.
You should know better.
And I know exactly what you're doin'. No one let him slide either.

If you search wormydog mk12, it's the first image. He could stop by and make an appearance to show more though.

I have no qualms against the change, and what I considered perfect was pre-mk4.

Btw, what do you consider a deal for an ARMS#40? I'm still purging spare parts.

Well, I ain't dead but nothing Mk12's been happening in my life lately. We're moving Wednesday to a smaller place, but I'll have pretty rocks and trees to take Wheel FSB porn pics at least. The money that might have gone to an early Vari-X went to the PC I'm posting on, but I use my PC more than I shoot lately anyways.

So now, I'm thinking perhaps I sell off my SWFA 1-4 and some of the old Mk12 bits to fund a Leupold. Problem is, those damn things are slippery as snakeshit and I never have $$$ on hand when I find one.

That being said, I'm curious of our existing Wheel FSB Master Race headcount. So there were the original ~ 12 trade-in uppers sold by PRI, but I'm curious what the rough wheel fsb #s are like, at least within this thread.

KOBK (legit SPR)
Nikiel09 (legit SPR)

LC86 (Weird oversize Gen I/SPR-MOD sleeve)
Secretwheelman (Geni/II Hybrid backdated / SPR-MOD sleeve)
Engineer (Gen II CF / SPR-PEQ)
Hunterex (if you didn't sell the damn thing!) (wheel FSB + Repro Gen II / full 1913?) sleeve
Zakk (Gen II HG / full 1913 sleeve) (was mine, was KOBKs before that)
Chenault (luckyfucker) (Gen II / full 1913 sleeve)

I though we had 4/5 of the FSBs show up, but I don't see anything new since last time I was here build wise except Chenault, and his wasn't in that batch... I'm curious for science, as I'd like to rougly jude the # of wheel FSB builds there are in relation to legit uppers. I'm guessing it's probably close to 1:1, though we don't represent 100% of the sampling.

Great day doing some lazy prone shooting.  Most of the outing was spent at 7 and 800 but threw the last 9 or 10 rounds at the 1000 yard target and managed a couple hits.

Lol, forgot my membership limits my inbox. I'll archive some stuff, all I have parts wise is my FSB with gas tube and some leverstop 22Ms. I did have a gent in a FB group asking about them earlier, I need to follow up before I can take offers.

Otherwise I have a bunch of non-clone junk that needs to go, but there's no way I get anywhere near what I paid for the Troy M1A chassis or ASA Side charge upper. If I could I'd have had cash for a Leupold AND Brownells lower by now...

And remind me, wasn't it MBlades who had another Gen I upper, but sold it to someone else? What ever happened with that one?

My sleeve is actually an old beat up MOD-1 sleeve that I modified to be an exact copy of the MOD.  I think I have a lead on a real MOD, but I'm waiting for him to get back into town.

Here are some pictures after the modifications.  The main differences after talking to a rep and after looking at a real one was that the swan was the old school one, the gaps weren't there obviously and the MOD-1 said MOD but the spacing looked the exact same.  I filled in the Gaps with DEVCON sanded smooth down to 1000 grit sandpaper and in person it looks perfect.  The photo was before the final product so the swan still looked a bit ruff.  The one difference I can't change is that the R next to the swan should be smaller, but I done as good as I can do.  For history sake though the rail is a MOD-1.

If anyone has a MOD-1 and wants me to convert it over I don't mind doing it.  It just may take a couple of weeks.

Dude that looks pretty dam good. The other pictures you sent are even more impressive. I am just hesitant to do it to my only genuine sleeve but I'm getting close to just going for it.

Yea after I took the higher grit sandpaper to it everything blended in perfectly.  I'm pretty happy with it.  I'm not sure how people view this kind of modification, but I think it's ok

The first one I saw was one Hunterex did further back in this thread there were pictures. Kinda threw me off seeing a PEQ 2-3 with no notches haha. But you even clipped the swans wings.
On a side note I grabbed some #22 med rings out of the EE last week. $70.00 30mm came with 1" inserts. Low and behold they showed up yesterday and turned out to be non-lever stop meds.
Sometimes I'd rather be lucky rather than good.

Shit looks sexy w/out glass
Edit: anyone wanna trade a full size rear sight for a USMC micro? I needs to fix that shit

Let me see what I have when I get home.

I have a spare, but I think it may be a micro as well.

Awesome broski, thanks.
No luck; it was indeed a micro.

If you don't find a trade, let me know. I may have a use for yours.

Anybody have some black Mod 1 pics with FDE furniture?

I love an all black Mod 1 but all my ARs are black right now and I'm feeling the FDE pull for variety. No I will not be spray painting (braces for abuse).

The short collar is not correct for any Mk 12. It was never used and only introduced in the civilian market a few years after the Mk 12 program was over.

Not exactly sure what you are looking for in the furniture department, but mine has an FDE Insight M3X and switch. Take our pick:

Mk12 Mod 1

Mk12 with SOPMOD

Thanks for the offerings guys.

I was thinking a FDE A1 stock, FDE grip, and some of the Taupe KAC panels on the FF RAS. Plus your standard FDE accessories and maybe a sprayed AEM5.

This is for my MK12 inspired recce but I figure the MK12 crew may have something close.
