Is that storage locker the 24gal medium or the 27gal large version with wheels and how many mags would you estimate it will hold?

Since my last post (not even sure when that was, but it was a while ago), I've really scored some good bargains on mags.
last summer  I picked up 40 used GI mags for about $5 a pop, a bunch of HK super mags for about $15 a pop, and recently 20 NIW Center's for $6 a pop.

And I was busy buying mags after Sandy Hook, and never paid the overly inflated prices.

My collection, as of my last inventory, as it stands now is:

20Rnd 5.56 AR mags: 129
30Rnd 5.56 AR mags:   66
BetaC 5.56 AR Mags:      3
32rnd  9mm AR Mags:   17
BetaC 9mm AR MAg:       1

I'm pretty sure that's correct, but I might be shorting my 20's...
Need to go through them again to be sure, apparently...

You would have another mag worth of ammo in that can if you loaded them to 30 like they're designed for.

True. I'm just using the old military standard that loading 30 compresses the spring too much. Probably totally false, but just erring on the side of caution.
It's actually to make the usgi magazines easier to load into the weapon on a closed bolt. Pmags don't have that problem as much.

Hah, not sure what military that is.  Just saying, we loaded 30 in the Corps.  Maybe it's an AF thing or something...."guys" can't smack a mag home ;)  As for the topic, I only have like a hundred mags, nothing  compared to most guys here!

32 USGI, various makes

About 24 Thermold 20s with mag couplers

About a dozen Tapcos

HK91 is good.  About 42

.50 cal can for Glock 9mm mags

.50 cal can for Beretta 92 mags

Just getting started on the Magpuls now that the panic is over

Should have 20 more USGI in next week and that will round those out.  Just picked up 8 more surplus Beretta 92 mags from Double Tap.  Got ammo for them, just to lazy to sit down and load 'em.

15-22 Black Dog drums

Oh, and 5 13 rouund mags for my P7M13, but I'm way too lazy to dig them out right now.

Which boxes/cans is everyone using to store loaded mags with dust covers standing upright? None of my metal cans will close all of the way with the mags standing up.

Looks like you need one or two 20 rounders right there in the middle to keep things from rattling around.  Or maybe some desiccant?

The plastic ".50 cal" type cans might work.  They're just a little bit larger.  The Cabela's dry boxes work well too.

40 AR mags, its more for collecting and getting all the different ones. Have a few 10s, mostly 30s. 2 x Surefire 60rds, then there are Magpul M2 and M3s, USGIs, Hera, Cammenga, CAA, orlite, Troy, HK, and Lancer. I'd like to load up on more Troys and Lancers. I'd also like to try out more Cammega and try out a Tapco.

Total of 63 mostly pmags with gi mags thrown in when i see a deall.

i see all these mags in packaging and wonder if im wierd that as soon as i get em home they get opened and loaded then thrown in the stash. i literally have zero empty mags for any weapon. i also buy enough ammo to fill however many mags i happen to grab so im not dipping inti the ammo stash. am i alone on this?

All the mags are preban or 10 rounders except for the bottom row.
