Man not sure why I didnt think to check this forum, lots of good threads I'm starting to pour through. Just havn't been active since my armor buying days. Was looking to get a Lima 6 towards the end of the year, just to try and pad the fun money account and catch and further updates etc. I was leaning towards the RRH version, not sure how unnecessary his extra cooling etc is, but figure if I'm going all out... My only hangup, other than wanting mag fed ability just to have it in case, was barrel length. I was quite smitten with the 12.5 on a recent youtube video that seems like it was a special influencer build. It appeared to have the RRH stuff, while also being short. Last I knew from update videos RRH said he would never sell shorter barrel completed uppers due to the tuning work involved and kinda philosophy of use. I started to think I wanted the Freedom 9mm for a shorty hall clearer larp until I read more into reliability trying to run a belt off a pistol catridge (oh well for cheap steel punching) I know I could do a build kit and try to accomplish what I want, but I have more money than time and skills. I can swap triggers and that makes me nervous enough as is, trying to fit a barrel and all the rest I'd rather have a choice from a mfg even if it's at a bigger premium. Hobby farm + job means I have enough small projects with my existing stuff to last me a year without learning all of that. |

Congrats on imo making one of the most disruptive and accessible options to open a new category of civilians firearms short of someone releasing a raygun. |

Items 2 and 3 here are getting my wallet all twitchy. Oh man... like seriously all twitchy. And, aside from links, I haven't really started on spares yet! You really gotta make sure it is as forward as possible. It closed easier with the hammer released I’ve found. I pick up my Inoculum lower today so I’ll see if it’s any different. |

It passed the function test, but never made it to live fire. |

I have ran 200 rounds through mine is a very short amount of time and while it did glow, it never failed. |

Yes they are the weakest point of the system, though we've only seen a handful (less than 5) failures of the stainless tube in over 1500 units shipped. You can certainly break it if you try hard enough. Pro tip: tuning your gas to the optimal setting can help preserve the life of the tube. |

| I went ahead and ordered the last 8” quad rail. Maybe when all the M249-style stuff starts coming out, I’ll consider selling it and swapping over. Or just build a new upper. |

Out of curiosity, have you ever tried repairing any of the loose mechanisms? I'm just wondering if you know the mode of failure, are the rivet holes oversize, the rivets under pressed, or is it a geometry issue with the stamping? Going to screw around with mine to see if I can tighten it up for a spare. |

I think the last thing I need to source is the gas tube. I took a look on V Seven’s website, and their extreme environment tubes don’t look like they have a straight version or at least it’s not listed anywhere in the details. There is one they have listed (EXT-300), but the details say it’s specifically for their 300BO barrels and doesn’t specify what length it is. Are there any other known sources for the tubes? Or how necessary is the inconel tube? I’d definitely prefer it in the end, but if a stainless tube will do 80% and just not need hundreds of rounds dumped through it in quick succession, I can go that route until more inconel tubes come in stock. I doubt I’d do a heavy firing schedule, but when I get everything to where I want it I’d rather have the added insurance of the stronger tube. |

I don't know how much longer the inconel will last than stainless but I think your 80/20 idea is apt. Get it running with a stainless tube and get inconel when they're available. I'd wager most of us are currently using stainless tubes with no issue. |

What iron sights did you go with and do they lining up perfectly? I'm not familiar with the total offset from the top rail of a standard handguard to the top rail of the Lima 6 receiver. |
