Besides the TT Fight Light Plate carrier, is there any other that will hold the 7x8 USGI side sapi? New unit allows personal kit if it will hold issue plates.

Got a CPC today from Crye. I was skeptical of these carriers because of the price and hype from the bb warz crowd, but after rigging it up and messing around with it I think i am a believer. I really like the thought you can tell went into the design of these carriers, it all fits together so nicely its great. I'll be on the range tomorrow I'm bringing it with me, so I'll get a better idea then.

I am at month 4 of daily wear of the TAG slick low pro carrier with velocity balcs and velocity x-sapis. I think I'm spoiled for life. Lol @ 2k of plates in a 60 dollar carrier.

No doubt the forethought put into designing Crye products is second to none. It would appear to me however that your current configuration isn't necessarily taking advantage of certain features which make the Chassis unique.

For instance, the quick release cable is absent. Perhaps you may deem it unnecessary or a liability, I mention it only in case it were an oversight. Though one decided advantage the CPC offers that can not be overlooked is the effortless donning/doffing process attained through its side entry. The method in which your radio PTT is wired makes that simple task look like a pain in the ass. Or rather should I say, the location in which your radio is placed makes it look like a giant pain in the ribs.

I'm curious why you've elected to mount your comms there (in what I can only assume is a hard to reach location) instead of the natural pocket created by the plate bag in between the inner and outer cummerbund? The same place that Crye has already sewn a convenient radio pocket for doing so.  

Personally I keep my radio and cables attached to the front plate bag using a JPC radio pouch. It provides the capability to rapidly install or remove the radio equipment as desired. More importantly it allows the two halves of the plate carrier to separate when the emergency doffing cable is pulled without being caught or tangled in comm wires.

I'm not suggesting this as the best or only way to setup your gear, just presenting my thoughts for you to consider. Congratulations on your awesome new plate carrier.

The quick release cables are tucked under the shoulder straps with the velcro that comes on them, I'm #muffintoperatorasfuck so the odds of me needing to get to them quickly are pretty low, whereas the odds of me snagging them on something and ripping everything apart at an inopportune moment are higher. If for some reason i need to ditch it i can reach up and grab the cables under the straps easily.

As for comms, this is something i hope to learn from you on. With the radio in the MBITR pouch on the cummerbund, how would you then route your PTT cabling? Would i be smart to use a TCI type mast on my rear plate bag? I dont like having my radio forward in my cummerbund, since I'm not using a tci mast or any other kind of separate antenna, if i put the radio forward of my arms i feel cluttered. Therefore i opted to use a first spear radio pouch on the inside towards the back of the pc, this way the antenna runs up my back as close to the plates and out of my way as possible, i shot and did some team movement drills with some friends for 3-4 hours this morning and it honestly didn't bother me back there. Yes reaching my radio is a little tricky, but i can simply pull it out of the FS pouch if i need to mess with it, but its usually a set it and forget it type thing for me. I opted not to put it between the inner and outer cummerbunds because this is how i had my strandhogg rigged, with the radio on the inside, i prefer my PC sides slick, as i wear an HSGI padded belt underneath the PC and take ammunition from my 9-10 o'clock, and my handgun from my 3, again another reason i like the radio out of those areas. I feel like putting the radio in between the cummerbunds will push the outer out over my mags on my belt too far for my liking, but its something i intend to mess with more.

super comfy. like i said i skeptical before i bought it, i know crye makes quality kit, however two main factors prevented me from getting one sooner, one being the Crye Precision neckbeard fanboy club that has exploded from the "milsim" airsoft community after the bin laden movie came out. The second factor being cost, which doesn't bother me if I'm getting top of the line quality for my money, but paying a premium for a product because of its name, or because certain people/organizations use it, rubs me the wrong way. My skepticism is because i know how things work in the gear community, for example north face, used to make great gear, got popular and raised their prices, there are now a bunch of companies making better soft-shell jackets than north face jackets for less price, i didn't want to pay the north face premium for my plate carrier, if that makes sense?

However, after spending a few hours in the heat running and gunning in this carrier, i am pretty convinced of its top tier status. I was very comfortable all day long and felt like everything just worked, shouldering my rifle wearing this pc with plates in is like a dream compared to other carriers I have used.

So am i a fanboy? Hell no, i hate fanboys, brand loyalty is stupid. This PC however, for me, so far feels like a big win.

I swear by the CPC as well. I've used the High Ground Plate Carrier, Eagle MBAV, and Crye AVS, and the CPC beats them all in my opinion.

You're IG pics are what made me go with the CPC over the AVS. It was one of the only sources of info I could find that wasn't a YouTube video done by some 15 year old kid going through puberty lol.

Yes, it's the S&S Holster Extender, can go from 0" drop to 1.5" to 3" drop on the fly.

I'm 6' 2" 160lbs and I'm at a medium harness, but I've got it sucked all the way in. You could probably do with a medium harness, as it is extremely adjustable.

Have not settled on the PC layout yet, one day I'll get a clip on chest rig instead of the mounted pouches. The nice thing about the pouches is that itll hold either 5.56 or 7.62 mags.

My success with the CPC inspired me to dig the JPC I wasn't using out of the unused gear closet and mess around with it. I originally wasn't a fan because I don't like the integrated mag pouch. So using some spare parts I rigged it up to my liking. I think it will be a good lightweight option now that I've got it configured more to my liking.

I'm running a similar setup (LWPC, but with a placard instead of the D3CR) and found the addition of shoulder pads to be a night and day difference.  I use US PALM shoulder pads on mine and quite enjoy them.

Thanks for the input. I've only run the rig a couple of times for some short duration recreational shooting and I could tell that if I went all day that it would get uncomfortable without the shoulder pads. The D3 rig is alright (not a fan of the stuff it pouch) but it came with the setup. I might switch it out for a 3 mag shingle or something similar.

What is that drop leg holster?

Had this 'JPC' commissioned, along with a MAP.  Will probably have him cut the MAP down a little bit, no one shoots at me for a living and I only stow a few things in it, aside from the bladder.

All those cool pouches and a nice carrier and you use a rubber band to retain the TQ? Get a BFG TQ Now! or a TT TQ Pouch.

Rubber bands work fine.





       




 

Yup. I use rubber bands to secure mine on my PC.



 

For looks BFG now, for practicality rubber bands. My BFG now was very tight and if my hands were bloody I'd have a hard time getting it out. Rubber bands break with enough force.

I've never encountered this problem with the TQ Now! A semi-firm tug and the CAT is out. Make sure the TQ is folded so that all of the plastic furniture is grouped together so it doesn't have to be yanked through the elastic loops.

I didn't like the D3 for the same reason, wish they'd go to a pouch like on the heavy. I wound up going to the M4 placard and it's ok but still a little bulky up front. Thinking of just using the kangaroo pouches with med kit on my side

Seems like a good way to lose a TQ if it gets snagged. Make sure to change out the rubber band regularly.
