I am expecting my PIG to arrive tomorrow. I am planning on ordering the plates and most of the pouches in the next week or two. I believe that I am going to be the newest member ot the TACO fan club. I am trying to settle on an aid pouch. Thinking about the large HSGI EOD pouch. I would like to be able to pack atleast a 500 ml IV bag for certain missions in addition to the other requisite items without having to carry a dedicated bag. I will try to post a few pics once I get it set up (the first time). I have not kept up with the latest and greatest gear for that last few years and am learning quite a bit on the forum here. Again, thanks to all.

That is some sweet gear man.

I have a few questions.

1. Why have the 4th rifle mag in a different place from the first 3 on the chest?

2. Why have 4 rifle mags, and 3 pistol mags? Being the pistol is usually a backup weapon, having 3 reloads seems like a little much, and only 4 rifle mags seems a little low. Just my thoughts.

3. how easily can you reach your radio?

Great questions my friend.

I use the blast belt when I train without the plate carrier and when I three gun so I need reload(s) on the belt. I'm gonna get rid of the mag pouch on the carrier though. Good input. I can reach the controls on the radio fine but it's all by feel.

ETA.....I personally feel having 5 total rifle mags is plenty but I agree with you on the pistol mags.

The gear is my duty rig, so it isn't as fancy as some other rigs. I wanted a KISS setup.

Regarding the valet, I built it in about 20 minutes with a miter saw and two 2x4s.

It is super easy, and I stole the idea from this thread.

HSGI Sure-Grip Padded Belt (Fat Boy Size)
HSGI Cobra Riggers Belt (Fat Boy Size)
HSGI High Speed Low Drag Suspenders

Pouches From Left To Right:
3x HSGI Pistol TACO's
1x HSGI Modular Pistol Magazine Pouch (Holds Surefire G2)
1x HSGI Bleeder/Blowout Pouch
1x G-Code OSH RTI Holster Mounted on G-Code RTI MOLLE Adapter
2x HSGI TACO's

And yes, I am cross eye dominant.. (Shoot Rifle Lefty, Pistol Righty)

CXS,

Is there any way to get a pic of the RTI molle adapter w/o the holster on it?  I'm trying to see how you mounted it, because I can't get mine to line up.  Did you have to mod the adapter or the belt?

I slid the 2 Tangs on the Back all the way through the 3 Rows of PALS and locked it down..

I'll be adding a little hot glue to the tangs to grip the PALS a little more.

I was given a low profile Crye Blast Belt today which was cool but I had a dilemma on how to mount a holster. As you can see in the picture my original blast belt has a removeable Molle sleeve which exposes the belt allowing for many holster options. The new blast belt does not have the removeable sleeve. Although I am still waiting for my 1.5" drop adapter, I decided to modify as a proof of concept a standard drop I have.

To solve the problem, I modifed the drop and then installed that on a Blackhawk serpa Molle platform.

Do I look stupid guys? I got some new equipment and wanted to see how it integrated with my existing kit. I had a friend visiting and had them take pictures 360 deg so I could see if there here any areas where things could hang up. Since it was raining I just threw on the boots knowing that I'd be wearing them for 5 minutes. If I was training or working they'd be laced all the way up and tucked....sheez.

Yes there are plates in the carrier.

I have a ballastic MICH helmet but also wanted a high quality BUMP helmet. Since it was new, I was trying it out.

Ok, I've seen a few guys now running shotgun and rifle ammo on the same rig.

Can you fill me in as to what the reasoning is? Is it a competition rig?

I can't see much use for it in combat, since you aren't likely to carry two long guns.

Anyway, thanks!

I personally wouldn't run it that way but, If you are issued an AR and a Shotgun you can grab either one and have reloads.
