Pretty much this...just easier for me to function...I tried it out once, and now all my rifles are set up like this...

In all honesty, your build inspired me to build it.

I need to work on it a bit more..I'm about to get a linear comp and cut the end cap to get it to fit better.

I have never seen a light that far out before, interesting. If you don't mind me asking, are you getting any powder residue on the lens after each shot?

No, but only because I don't shoot without a can.

I was actually wanting to build a MK18 Mod 0, but I already had a Sig 556 SBR.  I didn't see the need ("need"...lol) for two 5.56 rifles with a 10" barrel.  I figured a Kino using similar components was the ticket!  The 12.5" barrel also suppresses noticeably better than a 10.5" upper I used to have.

LOL, I had ingrown toenails removed.  I took a picture of it and sent it to my wife and she wigged out.  It was just a running joke with her and my girls so I used it.

Seems like a stupid question but I feel the need to ask, did you use Rustoleum on the rifle or is it a cerekote/duracoat color?

sexy

I did something similar once, put grease on the QD mount and don't let your can cool on it. It will get stuck if you do and you won't be able to break it loose without accessing the wrench flats on the mount.

might have to reassemble back to that one day

NOVESKE 10.5 SHORTY BASIC

Been whoring these pics around lately. All Noveske SBR on a Form 1, really simple. Had plans to chop the FSB and install a 9" BCM KMR rail but first thought it would be good to try a more simple setup. Really like it as is and it will stay this way. Only changed the M4 handguard to a more comfortable Magpul. Will more than likely use the KMR rail for a upcoming 300 BLK build using an Octane 9 suppressor. Really happy with the way this rifle handles and feels and can't wait to put a lot of rounds through it!

Started life as a late 2011 production Colt 6933 factory SBR.  Now wears a BCM 11.5" ELW-Fluted complete upper with 10" KMR.  Other details and weight breakdown in the spreadsheet screenshot:

I believe it weighs 13.5 ounces, no where near as light as something like a KMR but it's not bad at all. I have large hands so it fits me very well. The only thing to remember is that since it piggybacks on the upper receiver a regular height optic mount won't allow for proper co-witness with iron sights. The one exception though is the QRP2 that comes with the PRO, it will give you a nice lower 1/3 co-witness once the spacer is removed.
