If you run your thumb over the edge of the 9 o'clock rail, you can still get quite a bit of control. It's not the like the SCAR needs control of muzzle rise. :)

Could be a right vs left shooting problem...

2) Might be right on the charging handle but I run my Micro T-1 around the end of the charging handle.

In that photo he is not activating his PEQ 15. If he did in a low/no light setting, the IR splash on his hand would not be good for his NODS.

Lynn

Absolutely.  I'm fairly certain he doesn't run the pressure switch on the top rail.

Also, he's shooting an AR platform, which benefits more from the thumb-over grip than the SCAR.

Changed the optic.  The Burris XTR-14 with the LaRue mount was not very good for my thumb when charging.

In my opinion, that is the sexiest rifle I've seen on arfcom.

I second that.

Doc, I keep wanting to pull the trigger on your EE optic listing. What didn't you like about it?

My wife didn't like it when she found out between  the rifle and the optic we could have been completely and totally debt free to include our car payments....

Yeah, my wife would probably come unhitched if she knew how much money was actually sitting in the man cave.

Here's a few side by side shot's of mine and Stephen H's CQC's which offers a visual comparison of available components.  Mine is slightly  heavier due to the Branham rail and Eotech.

Cheers

Nope.  StephenH received a pre-production/beta unit.

Cheers

Yeah, if I recall, Stephen works for Blue Force Gear (LOVE THE SLINGS!!!) and he gets some pre-production stuff to play with/evaluate.  He got the Magpul selector levers well before us common folks!  The up side is, he gets to pass on feedback to the makers, and he shoots alot! :)

The owner of Sentinel Design is a very good friend of mine.  He passed along a set to try out.  They are an excellent upgrade to the factory rails and hopefully they'll be on the shelf in a few more weeks.  Feel free to contact Tango Down and let them know you're waiting on these to be released along with the rest of the SCAR accessories they're working on.

I saw that Clint has cut his SCAR down also from the pictures I saw at the Vickers class. Stephan is your sling AOR 1?...like the looks of it

He used Marvin Pitts as well and had it cut to CQC length; 10".  The sling is in "Desert Digital" wink, wink... They are available exclusively through Grey Group Training for now.

How's the latest EXPS Eotech running? I have owned a bunch of EOTechs and they all kill themselves sitting in my safe. Have they fixed the battery drain problem, or what?

So far the EXPS has been fine and according to Eotech the average battery life at brightness level 12 is roughly 500-600 hours, 3X battery life of N cell sights.  I will leave it on and report back when it dies.

Cheers

I hope they finally have their shit fixed.  Let us know if there are any battery cracking problems.

I know Pat Rigers was saying his units were dieing at about 500 hrs use.  Let us know how yours does.

It sure looks bad ass. ;)

Just your basic SCAR 16, but new for me today.  Took it to the range, sighted it in and put about 60 rounds down range.  Should get about 250+ rounds at quals on Thursday suppressed and non-suppressed.  I know the Aimpoint mount is backwards; I have a new one on the way to correct it.

I am very happy with it so far.

The rifle on the top belongs to the guy that designed those rails, what mount is Clint using on his T1

I skimmed and may have missed it, but for you guys that are painting parts, what color are you using?  I'm getting one of the rail extensions and am not a fan of the black rail on the FDE rifle.

I've got Krylon from Wal-Mart, but would rather use something like Alumahyde.  I'm torn between FDE and Coyote from Brownel's.

Thanks

I used Brownell's Alumahyde 2 and have tried both FDE and Coyote.  IMO the Coyote is more yellow and is a better match for the SCAR.  Here's a pic of my SCAR with the Aimpoint and magazine painted in Alumahyde 2 Coyote:

What sling is that, and is it available yet?  Based on looks alone, I'm a fan. Is there any padding, it's not necessary, but it is appreciated.
Thanks

Not yet although there are some out there...

BFG's 2/1 point sling.  It's made me a fan again of QD sockets.
