What kind of optic to you have there? I've never seen one.

Looks like something that should be on a phased plasma rifle.

This is the new Leupold HAMR.  It's a 4x optic that uses the nifty CMR2 reticle.  Up top is the Leupold Delta Point with the triangular aiming point.  I like it.  It's clear as can be and the size and weight lend themselves well to the SCAR package.

More Info Here

How did you guess? Since I have the two expansion chambers on this oldie but goodie paintball gun it throws a lot of people off the trail.

Yes.  The DC mount is lighter, maintains a lower profile and has a set screw rather than rail clamp which eliminates the weight of a long bolt.

Cheers

Looks good...nice job.  Was it originally black?

Cheers

Yep. Once your black you...uh...turn green? Yeah.
Total disassembly wasn't hard, but the plethura of parts in an unfamilar (as opposed to AR's) configuration made it seem more difficult than it was. Re-assembly was much more of a snap than I had feared, with the exception of a couple springs I had minor difficulty with. Mostly frustration due to being in a hurry! :)
It's just a rifle, not brain surgery. PAINT IT!

WOW.. I really like that foliage green!!!  Hmm might have a new weekend project.  Would probably match all the foliage green magpul stuff i already have hanging on it. Lol.  Ii wonder how different it would look starting out with an FDE version.

I've had my SCAR 16 for about 3 months now and I'm really diggin this rifle. I shot one when they first came out but, I had a few other projects going on and purchasing a SCAR wasn't at the top of the list. I initially was holding out for the 17 but, my local fun shop had a trade in from a guy slightly used (under 500 rounds) and sold it to me for $1650...After running a little over 1K rounds through this, the 17 has moved up a few spots on the list of things to get..

Here's mine..

Here's my friends next to mine when I first got it..I'm going the same route with the PWS extension, cut to 14.5, and pinned..I don't feel like monkeying around with SBRing this one just yet..May or may not be a keeper..

I'm glad to see that you finally bought a SCAR although I am not surprised since you are a man that appreciates high quality weapons!

Just go ahead and file the F1....she'll no doubt be a keeper.

Cheers

I really wished that I didn't wait as long as I had..I may take your advice cause since I bought it, I've been following Your and Stephen's feedback after SBRing the SCAR's and I will admit that it has me VERY VERY intrigued..You know that I follow your every footstep so, this time shouldn't be any different
