Mine is FDE, 5.56 calibrated SOCOM overrun. The only dark earth 7.62 variant I've seen sold for $4000+ on eBay. (And to think I almost bid on it...)

Those pics were taken a few months ago, I believe that interval was something close to 1500 rounds of M855... pretty clean actually.

What kind of vertical grip is that on your SCAR?

Added some Gear sector patriot brown, and RIT Brown. Also a hint of the red, white, and blue.

GuyinFL,

Does the Haley Strategic light mount clear the sling attachment point?  Hard to tell from the picture.

*Place holder*

I put 1K down on a black 17 this weekend!!

I told my guy I would leave it there for 2 weeks while he attempted to find one in FDE. There hard to come by right now, but we will see what he can do. I still like the black one, but I would prefer the more accurate tan color.

ETA: Owned a page in a picture thread and dont have a picture...

Standby....

Yeah, I got nothin.

It looks like his sling attachment point is cut off, which is why I asked.  If it's cut off I don't know if it will clear the attachment without modding it.

Whittakers Guns in Owensboro, KY has a few of them in stock in FDE and black. Both the 16 and 17. I was just up there the other day and got the 17 in FDE!Whittakers
Their website sucks, but have your guy call them and they can just transfer one. These guys have over 6,000 guns in stack. It's crazy! No SCAR mags though

What are you guys using to cut off the front sling attachment points for light mounting?

Dremel?

Before you go hacking off bits of your gun, quite a few light/mount combos will go around the loops just fine. The only one I know you have to cut for is the IWC/HS Thorntail. I run a Gear Sector Scout Mount/M600C on mine without modifications.

The gear sector mount works for a m600 not the m300 on the side rails, but the m300 will clear the loop if you mount on the upper rail. I did this at first but with the extended rail height it pushed the light a little to far toward the top. So i chopped the loop off and made it right i used a dremel, go slow its easy and use aluma-black cant even notice it with the light attached

Coming from you I consider that a huge compliment, especially considering the pics I have seen you post.

I will probably be pulling the PWS Comp and replacing it with an AAC Miter I have lying around.

So whats the best aftermarket grip options for these. The A2 style is horrible IMHO. Usually run the MIAD. Something a dremel to the grip can make work?

I dremeled my MOE grip on mine. Tango Down makes the BG-17 which should drop right in with no mods.

If you're going to go that route, there's a thread on here by DOE detailing that mod.

+1 on the Tango Down grip.  I found it a huge improvement over the standard grip, enough to not attempt the mod for the MIAD.

Updated a few things. Decided I did not want a VFG on this one. I changed the safety selectors to the Magpul ones and swapped to a TD charging handle. I am still on the fence about the TD Charging Handle. Will have to see how I like it after a few more range trips. I also swapped the brake to the AAC I had lying around. Now I need a sling and a mounting solution. Any recommendations? I have a few 2 point slings around with QD swivels.

Looks great. Does the SCAR offer much in the way of QD sling mounts? May have to go with a Gear Sector 2-point with HK hooks.

These pics are killing me. They just prompted me to put one of my ARs up for sale to fund one of these. Lovin' everyone's rifles.
