They have similar lengths of bolt travel but Stribog has +2" of barrel. MP5A3 - Was excited to finally try a slick MP5 without a bunch of extra extra duty accessories (i.e. extra weight). It had a slight edge over Stribog and I do mean slight. It was a touch softer but barely. I only noticed because I shot them back-to-back. Had I shot them an hour apart I would've called it a draw. MP5SD - Yeah no real contest here but then again they're two completely different guns. The SD is ridiculously smooth. And quiet. And expensive. If Stribog were integrally suppressed with a big 'ol can, weighed 25% more, etc, I'm sure it would hold it's own against the holy grail of SMGs. Appreciate that comparison. Guess I’ll have to spring for an SD eventually. Always been curious about them. Ill be saving for a while for that one though.... In the meantime its the Bog for me. PCCs are range guns only for me. Looking for good value and dont need defensive reliability for the aforementioned reason. Bog seems to fit the bill imo. |

Possibly a dumb question; Is there any reason the entire top half of the bolt couldn't be made to slide back for delay against the portion below? Though the MP5 carrier is quite skeletal, it is still much more massive than the corresponding Stribog component (and the bolt itself far less massive) |

Probably a lot more manufacturing difficulty for not much benefit. |

Bought an A3 today for $950.99 (no brace) today from BDU. I’ll pick it up at their store in Gainesville on my way home from AR in about 3 weeks. I gotta figure out what optic to put on it. |

Nice Safety Harbor had an Instagram post yesterday showing them installing one of their entry stocks on it. It doesn’t appear to be any different on the ass end. Anyone know the width of the upper portion of the receiver where it narrows down? I’m still scratching my head over a stock and wondered if there were any other choices (Maxim) like the Safety Harbor that would fit. The receiver looks a good bit wider than an AR. |

Anyone tried running 147gr flat nose or good defensive hollow points through their A3 yet? I know that’s a big ask during the times we are in to burn a box of gold dots or HST’s, but as I am sure a lot of people are looking to use this for defensive purposes it’s an important question that remains unanswered. |

Usually flat nose profiled ammo gets jammed in the A1’s which is why I used a tapered cone profile defensive round. I do have 1k or so 147gr HsT but haven’t gotten around to loading them yet. I *may* try to get to it this week, just for you, but damn is it hot af in my reloading room. Edit: These hst resemble my previous JHP a bit in regards to their profile so I would think they’d be just fine in most pcc. I just loaded up 6x hst with ~3.4 gr Titegroup with OAL of 1.160” (Note: this is as long as you can possibly seat these guys. Maybe 5 thou clearance in the mag when loaded). Functioned just fine in my A1. I don’t know the proper OAL of factory hst though so if you or someone in this thread knows, I’ll load some up to those specs and test. Edit2: I noticed some marks on these hst pulls and decided that’s probably where they were initially pressed to. Ended up doing 1.130” to 1.135” for the second test and it was certainly more breathing room in the mags. Did 5 shots rapid fire along with cycling just the top round a couple times looking for signs it was impacting anything. No issues.

I’m working on an A1 to A3 conversion and was wondering if anyone had a reciprocating charging block they’d like to sell me. I’m asking for the reciprocating one as I assume many of you have upgraded to the HB Industries conversion kit and you likely have one sitting around you’re not using. (Apologies if this isn’t ok in this forum but wasn’t sure where I could ask.) I was able to get an extra barrel retainer from GO but they don’t have any charging blocks in stock right now (and zero A3 parts as of last week.) |

As an FYI regarding the new metal reinforced mags shipping with the A3, GO confirmed the new mags work with the older generations. (I contacted the project manager at GO directly and received an email.) He also said it would be a while, maybe a month, before they would be available for individual sale as they barely have enough to ship with the A3 currently. I’ve seen some confusion about this on a few posts and different forums. Hopefully this information directly from GO helps. |
| New owner here. I picked up a new Stribog SP9A-1 Second Generation. The charging handle is a bit stiff. I haven't measured it yet but wow it is a bear to charge this thing. Is this usual on the newer releases? First thing I did when I got home was a teardown and added a Swamp Fox Blade 1X prism sight. Add some weight but that compared to the Holoson's I have on an AR15 and a KS47 is a superior sight IMHOl...I will be taking it to our property once the weather cool's down a bit to run it and see how it does. Looking forward to breaking it in. Any suggestions on ammo to start with is appreciated. |

Welcome and congrats! Yours must have the extra heavy recoil spring. They were sending out replacement lighter springs to those who ask for them. My heavy spring ran fine, but I would get a small percentage of stovepipe ejection failures. Since switching to the lighter spring, those have went away. |
O.K....I sold all my HKs, but I have to keep my Identity!
| Thanks. I wondered if I got one with those springs after reading about it. Surprised that this is still happening into late July. Would have thought they would have "fixed" this issue when it was first identified and having to personally replace a spring would not be happening. Hopefully they respond and send softer springs and explain the process of exchanging them. |

Not an A3 but I ran 100 rounds of Winchester 147gr Ranger bonded through my A1 without and issue on Sunday. Mine is a range toy so I don't see running much HP ammo through it anyway. David |

I sent an E Mail to GO yesterday late afternoon and this morning they responded wit feedback regarding the heavy spring for the charging handle I appear to have in my new SP9A1 that I picked up Wednesday. The quickness of their response was darn good. It appears they are going to send me a lighter spring to reduce the pull. Has anyone replaced their spring and how did you do it? Any tools required? I appreciate any feedback on this as I want to make sure if I do this, I won't have a problem later. Thanks. |

Re HSTs in Stribog, I had 2 124gr get stuck in the chamber when trying to rack a live round out. Turns out this was due to the rounds having red sealant dribbled on the outside of the case! Tried them in my sig pistol and same thing, they got stuck! So check your hsts for red sealant on the case. Fwiw I purchased mine in the law enforcement packs from the half off sale one of the big online companies often had at the start of the month. Can’t remember which one, target maybe? Anyway I checked every single round and there were several in each box that had that red sealant on the outside of the case (not just at primer and edge of bullet where it should be). The issue may be exacerbated by stribog due to its stepped chamber but it did it on the sig also which I think has a tapered chamber not stepped (haven’t checked that, just assumed). Fwiw my a1 non reciprocating dual rod bolt model shot them just fine if no red sealant problem. |

Pretty much stick to hp ammo that has a more round profile vs a cone like FP have, |

Sounds like things are looking promising again for the 'Bog. Was a bit dicey there for a bit between the recoil spring substitution and mag issues. I think this may be my next purchase (assuming another badass parts kit doesn't come along in the next few weeks; a Stribog is cool, but a Breda M37 is cooler) |
