Sorted out my bench-mount APS priming tool. Come to find that RCBS has discontinued the large primer plugs for their APS tools, so I started emailing a few people. Managed to get a couple from a reloading supplier who's on the auction site. As a last resort my ex bro in law is set up to machine and produce them so if push comes to shove, there's a source.
Then...I bit the bullet (a big one at that) and bought an RCBS Big Max plus the auto shell holder. Was going to get a Rock Chucker as a single stage but the frame layout isn't conducive to run the press left-handed. Which is how this one will be set up as it's going on the left side of my bench. Only things left on the list are some sort of shotshell reloader (an RCBS Grand if I can find one; a Ponsness if not), then bullet casting equipment and a Lube-A-Matic plus dies. A Corbins swaging press for 22/30 cal bullets is on the list too but I need another bench for it. |

Today I will be pulling 42 rounds on 9MM 124gr because when I loaded them in 2021 (Remember no primers) I used what I had CCI #450 SR mag.
I needed 8 rounds to fill out my range mags 2 weeks ago and of those 8 2 were light strikes with a Sig M11A1 hammer fired with recent springs installed about as strong as you can get with smacking a primer So, I will one at a time pull the bullets and will have 42 decapped SPP primed flare mouth cases waiting. Oh the joy (Yes I considered just throwing them away but the primers man the primers I could trade the pulled primers for a BMW) So, today I am not just reloading no; I am re-reloading |

Emptied some 45 and 30-06 and picked up about 300 misc. brass at the range. A lot of it was 270, 6.5 Creedmore, 357 mag.

Spent mo' money.
Got the power line from the receptacle at the reloading room breaker box run across the ceiling and to the power strip on the bench. Then it was time to test all the tumblers, lights and bench accessories. A couple pages back I mentioned buying an LED light for my Pro 2000. Was meant for a Dillon 750 but could be used on the RCBS press. This is going to be one of the best reloading accessories I've purchased. Another thread I started talks about Rock Chuckers and gets into on-press priming. This led me down a Redding rabbit hole: My T7 apparently came with a large primer arm but try as I might I absolutely cannot find the small arm. Might not have gotten one as apparently they only started shipping with both after 2020. So I cracked the wallet for one of the small arms plus the tube priming accessory. And I know I'll find the damn thing in a couple of days. |

WOOHOO!
On the drive back from the skeet range yesterday, I stopped off at the used / surplus furniture store. They had another WrightLine media cabinet. I bought it yesterday. I went back with my truck today to pick it up. WOOT! Granted these next few pics are from a bing image search, but they all kinda look like this more or less: Attached File Some have fixed shelves. Others have shelves that are more like drawers….they pull out. Like pictured above. And they have a tambour door kinda like an antique roll top desk: Attached File This latest one is like a solid tan color. No blue stripe on the door. I mounted casters to the bottom of it right before I unloaded it from my truck. Wheeled it right in. So now I have even more storage space to put reloading stuff. EDIT: the one I picked up today is 6 feet tall. This is the first one I bought: Attached File It is a 6 footer. The second one I bought is a 7 footer. I don’t recommend that since most doors are 6 foot 8 inches. |

A quiet day so I decided to clean and anneal some brass. Still didn't have much to do so I resized and primed them as well.
Then looked at the piles of brass that need trimming and decided that was enough for the day. |

I've been away from reloading for a minute and have finally decided to get this program running again. This week I've completely cleaned off my reloading table and my gun room workbench, finished hanging my small press collection on the wall (Inline Fabrication plates and brackets), cleaned several thousand cases in multiple calibers, sorted a bunch of 9mm by headstamp to help ID some bulge problems with my 147gr loads, and then completely packed the aforementioned benches with sorted brass, trays of random cases, etc.
It's a never ending battle |

Added more pieces to the bench.
Started a thread about it and depending on the responses I'll detail what I did to make it work. Also started down the cast bullets rabbit hole. So much to learn and to buy. |

I snagged a decent amount of extra reloading stuff, including an RCBS competition powder measure/drop. I have quite a few powder measures, but never played around with one with a micrometer adjustment. Also picked up a decent amount of primers, as well as some H4831, RL22, H322, Varget, H4227, IMR4198, and a little bit of H335 and BL(C)-2

Flooded my 🤬 reloading room.
The original light setup was a single screw-in fixture and my old eyes need more lumens. I replaced that with a double-gang box and put two combination switch/receptacle assemblies in. The switches feed two T5 LED light pigtails - one to a 4ft tube which runs back towards the safe and two 4ft tubes in series which run towards and over the reloading bench. When I was getting ready to mount the second light over the bench I wanted to move a ground clamp (so I thought it was...) away from the axis of the light tube. Stuff got mighty wet when I loosened the clamp bolts. Turns out it was a self tapping saddle valve feeding my refrigerator ice maker. They're prohibited here because they can leak. Probably good I found and fixed it properly. If the thing started spraying water and I was away from the area for an extended period of time, lots of equipment may have been ruined. Back on the reloading front, began planning the casting and swaging equipment layout for the bench in the barn. If I can find the Special Duty accessory for my Big Max I have someone who can thread the blank die and shell plate adapters for me. If not I'm looking at putting a Walnut Hill 2 press out there plus a Lube A Matic and the bullet casting gear. |

Been tweaking my AR9. Added a maxim delayed buffer to try and reduce gas to face
Also bought a Huxwrx Cash9 supressor as well. I am making 147g subsonic rounds with RMR FMJ and 3.4g of VV N320. I was using 3.2g but upped it to 3.4g since it wouldnt cycle my G19. I meant to chrono @ 3.4 but forgot it. 3.4 barely cycled the G19 and oddly was extremely smoky. I only ran 5 rounds so I am going to test that again. I did switch primers to CCI400's over 500's but I doubt that would lead to smoky. No issues in the AR9. Not at 3.2g either. |
