Has anyone heard anything from PTR about another run ?
|
|
|
Been waiting a long time
|
|
If I didn’t need the work I wouldn’t be here,
I’d be back home on the last frontier. . . |
The PTR K3P has not been produced in approx. 2 years . We have contacted them about doing a special order for Atlantic Firearms and this is currently in the discussions phase .

I've been wanting a G3K clone for a long time, but the new PTR 63 might be a little more desirable. Decisions, decisions....
|
|
|
I’d buy one at that price. I’m guessing that the brace ban will put a hurting on future rifle caliber pistol releases though.
|
|
|
I hadn't realized those hadn't been run in two years.
My brother bought one from a local shop about three months back. New, so they must have had it for a while. |

Been waiting forever for them to start production back up on them. Wish they would also do a 33k. They would make bank. Anyone would if someone would actually build them.

We did get a confirmation that they will do a custom run of the PTR K3P for Atlantic Firearms. They are taking a look at the production schedule and hopefully we will have a timeframe soon.

I spoke to them at the NRA convention about this very rifle, and they seemed open to the idea. Not as positive about the 556 models. |

Do I need a 12” .308? No. But do I want one? Yes.
Hopefully they make a big enough run to discourage the, uh, “hyper capitalist entrepreneurs” from screwing it up for the rest of us. |

That would be the bees knees. |

Thanks much Atlantic FA! I've been hunting for a K3P since last Spring. Came across one but it had roller dents (Aaargh). I just need one K3p. Not a second for the safe. Or the auction. Just ONE to enjoy! Thank you.

Been looking forever and when one popped up awhile back I was not in position to grab it. When I get one it will turn into my first SBR!

One of, if not my favorite, rifles to shoot. I love mine and shoot it in local 2gun matches almost exclusively. With a #17 locking piece, it’s very soft shooting.
Took me years to find this one, and a second would also get SBR’d and put to work in a different configuration. Attached File Attached File Attached File |

Damon what optic is that? I'm considering (light?) optics for any ptr I may get. Thnx.

Sweet baby Jesus on fire. Gonna need a damn lawyer and a miracle to pull my ass outta this.

Will it come stock with the #17?
Hopefully a tropical handguard. |

Part of the reason they stopped production was because of the limited availability of the unique parts for the K3P. |

That leads to my other question...these come with a stock 45 degree locking piece(?)...I see a lot of recommendations to install a #17 or 36 degree.
Is that so? Something about avoiding roller dents, which may explain why the one I saw last summer had them. Though it also had a blast can on it, FWIW. (Thnx) |

In fact, it started to show light roller marks within the first few range trips. That’s what prompted me to swap to the #17. I didn’t even like to shoot it until swapping out locking pieces. |

(Thnx) View Quote I want to say they come with a 50* LP, but I need to go very my notes on that. Whatever it is, it is NOT the same LP that HK used on the actual G3K. Let me go see real quick. ETA: PTR shipped the K3P with a 55* LP #7 The G3K used a 50* LP #18 from the factory |

Ejection was like being at an axe throwing competition. I switched out to a #9 40° locking piece and the gun smoothed out immensely. Brass throw was almost exactly the same as the gun unsuppressed with the original locking piece. Best part is that it still runs without the can as well. It's a joy to shoot. Ejection is mild by comparison, and the gun still cycles fine. |

Will pick up a #9 to do a little science. Thanks |

Sure would be nice to see the 32K be released at the same time! Some 7.62x39 goodness!

How do these and the x39 version suppress? Interested in grabbing one and would like to throw on my 762-RC2 if I did get one.

Very cool, I would definitely get 1 of each.

Will you offer compliance parts installed prior to shipment for
AWB states? |

Let them know the PTR91 KF 16" carbine would be nice too, but they can skip the heavy barrel and use a standard.

When should we expect this?

YES that's been on my list too, I got into the G3 late when these were all discontinued! (argh!) the PTR 91 kf version with the carbine length Handguard...
I see them used online rarely but can't tell what shape they're in...then I find something else (new, w/warranty) I've been looking for... So, yes, I second that motion... :P |
