That price seems decent considering most 2014 Stingrays are going for around that much.

That being said, white exterior is a deal breaker, and red interior is also a deal breaker.

damn I actually like that colour combo...but it ain't got nothing on black/dark grey camel interior and bronze wheels

Nice looking car but the belief that Vette owners are compensating for shortcomings or having a pathetic midlife crisis are so deeply entrenched in American society, I would never consider owning one.

And I have shortcomings and am having a pathetic midlife crisis!

Love OP's pic, that mean bitch looks like she should have a minigun mounted in the hood.

I recently bought a C7 myself.  2014 Stingray 2LT Coupe w/ 24,000 miles.  The Z06 was very appealing but I didn't want to spend a ton of money on another toy that ends up sitting neglected after awhile.  This is a nice enough entry Vette for me.  We'll see how it works out and go from there.

The only congenital defect that non-supercharged C7s suffer is a "shudder" in the automatic transmissions.  (Mine is a manual.) Corvette Forum - A8 Transmission failure tracking

2016 and newer have the front bumper camera - which I wish I had as it is not so easy to judge how close you are to parking curbs.

Z51 and (I think) GS use a dry sump engine so oil changes are much more expensive and involved than typical car.

I have 35k mile on mine.  I had one CEL for an electronic dif issue that was fixed with a "reset" at the dealer.

I didn't buy the car for economy, but it actually gets the best MPG of anything in my fleet.

This is not a ZR1 body kit. Just a bumper and wing. And it looks terrible without the widebody fenders. Also keep in mind the 3LTs have issues with the dash peeling/bubbling.

I'm far from a Corvette guru but you've said retractable hardtop and convertible hard top, I don't think the C7 ever had those options. Are you just talking about the removable targa top?  It's not electric or a true convertible hard top like the C8 has. Someone correct me if I'm wrong
View Quote

You are right.  The c7 convertibles are a soft top car with retractable roof.  The coupes are all targa style with a manually removable top section.  C8 has a true hard top convertible.  I have one and it is awesome!  The coupe still has the removable top as well.

When I was looking to by a c7 z06 I would always look at GS's with the z07 package.  Much less and throwing a blower on it would put it right back into z06 territory power wise.

This thread has great timing.  I just today agreed to buy my little brother's 95 'vette. Yeah, not as nice and speedy as the new stuff, but plenty good for me.

Definitely going to need to squeeze some more hp from that motor, though.  Should be easy to dial it up without blowing something up.

So I changed gears after the first car’s owner didn’t want to answer my questions and finding out almost all US-spec muscle cars where I am are wrecked US cars bought at auction and imported here and rebuilt. 95% of the US spec cars I found have salvage titles. So with the juices flowing I decided to go all in to find a clean US spec Corvette Z06. Lots out there and this one is clean and I have a couple of shipping quotes. 2019 LZ2 with 50,000 miles. I have always hated white cars but after finding the original white Corvette I am kind of in love. Close to pulling the trigger but not quite there. I have a friend checking it out next week;

And no, I do not have ‘fuck you’ money. But after years of my youth having subscriptions to Car and Driver and Motortrend and anxiously reading reviews of Corvettes, I now have the money to pick up my unicorn car. And I am in a good place to track it. And I am going full Monty with the Z06.

I sold a 2017 Zo6 Zo7 packaged 7 speed manual car with 100,000 miles. They are very solid cars but be perpared to buy a set of aftermarket wheels. the inside of the barrels on these crack very easily. You don't have to hit anything, just daily driving will do it.

Because I live overseas so it has to be shipped to me. I avoid taxes but it costs around $5k to ship it to me and husbanding agents and such. I have to talk to my insurance agency tomorrow to get ‘bridge insurance’ because shipping insurance doesn’t cover anything until it gets loaded on the ship.

It maybe even more important; what issues should I be looking for? Based on feedback here I am leaning towards the first vehicle, I am going to have a mechanic experienced with performance vehicles take a look at it prior to buying; what should I tell them to look for?

Congrats!! Beautiful car. The best thing you can do to make this thing go faster is to get it the tires it needs. with the stock tires, even completely stock, traction is a real issue. There are only few wheels that will be small enough to give you a good sidewall that will clear the brake calipers.

So I got a ‘21 2SS and traded it for a ‘22 ZL1.  I didn’t tell the wife to see how long it would take her to notice.  She parked next to it in the garage for three months and never did.  I’ve prewarned her to expect to see a C7 Z06 when she pulls in one day.  I got a look that kinda scared me so I’ve held off.  For now.  As much as I really like the Camaro, I’d trade it in for the right ‘19 Z06.

I've had 2 C7s. Not really a fan of the GS from a performance stand point. Lots of extra weight with the same power as a base coupe.

From a price point, I haven't been around the community lately to know if that's a good price. Off the top of my head, 55k miles seems high for a Vette. I would think you could get in one for that price for half the miles.

ETA: Bought a Z06. Very Nice!

Ain't nothing wrong with 655 hp!

I've been having to be patient with purchases myself.

Every day I go to the gym it seems like I've seen some C5s and 6s at a dealer near me.  I looked up a couple of them and warned my wife that I might end up making an offer on one of them.
