Wow. Just wow.

Cardinals player falls at the worst possible time.

Brewers sweep the Cardinals to secure their first postseason birth since 2011. It's also the team's first sweep of the Cardinals in STL since 2009.

Brewers have the most wins in the NL and still only have a WC spot clinched. Crazy.

baseball is getting crazy in the NL. there could be a potential for some teams to have to play two 'play off games' just to get into the wildcard single game play off.

MLB scheduling is stupid. The Cubs have to finish with St Lou, while the Brewers get to host the lowly Tigers.

Yep, makes perfect sense.

The MIGHTY Tigers took two out of three from the Cards. Are you saying the lowly Cubs can't beat them? One Tigers win over Milwaukee could clinch the division for Chicago.

Come on Burley, I know you want to say it...

This season has been a tough season for Tigers fans, who are, undoubtedly the greatest and most dedicated fans in all of baseball, and I, of course, am chief among them.

But I must say, that despite the hardships, the losses and the outright crooked underhandedness of the Pittsburgh Pirates (cheaters all, and worthless  untermenschen to the last) I am sad to see that there will only be three more games of Tigers Baseball this year. Soon, the post season will come. There will be baseball for another month, and a new champion will be crowned. After that winter will be upon us, and baseball will end entirely. There will be offseason trades, signings, MLB Network will run it's replays of the Baseball is Racist documentary along with a shit load of other horseshit about baseball history. Christmas will come, New Years will come, snow will fall, snow will melt, eventually the trucks will head to Florida, packed with gear, pitchers and catchers will report to various training facilities, etc.

But between Monday and February 23, 2019 there will be no Tigers baseball.

If I knew, right now, that I had to endure another 100 losses, another 5 months shit talking from the rats of Cleveland, Pissburgh or any other shithole on the map, in order to have Tigers Baseball still being played, I would take it with glee.

This has been a hard year for the Detroit Tigers, a losing year. And yet, I am sad to see it go.

Steve,

Being called "untermenschen" by anyone but you would just seem forced and insincere. But coming from you, it just seems right.

I'm looking forward to cheating the Tigers out of their rightful victories come mid-April.

Tiger Stadium was a cool place and a truly unique stadium. The double decker outfield was something i always enjoyed looking at. Last time i drove by it was on my way to Verlander's first No hitter vs my Brewers. The stadium was empty and there was a homeless guy sleeping on the sidewalk next to it, but it still had the Tigers logo painted(although faded) on the side of the building.

I've since past that corner of Michigan and Trumbull on a few occasions and it always seems odd not to have baseball being played there. Comerica is a great park(and honestly underrated IMO. Behind home plate is an awesome view of the downtown area), but there's something about playing on that corner just outside of downtown that will never be the same again.

From what i remember, the only two teams that really offered him a solid contract were the Padres and the Royals. Between the two, i'd pick the Padres as they will be competitive sooner rather than later. They're also about to get a shitload of talent coming up from the best farm system in baseball(something like 14 players from their system are expected to make the roster). i wouldn't be shocked to see the Padres in the Wild Card discussion in two years, with them being around a .500 team next year.

Plus, even if they suck he gets to spend all year in San Diego while being paid $21 Million a year.

Two one run wins for Milwaukee. In both games the Tigers have come back and tied the game and lost on a home run. I'm proud of how the Tigers are playing. You have a bunch of young kids fighting every night.

This is has been a tough season for the Tigers but they haven't rolled over for anyone. I wear my Tigers gear with pride.

Well, here's the last Bucs game until the end of March. The talking heads are saying Frazier has the 2B job next year. I'm guessing everyone in figuring JHay is hitting the road. That sucks because I loves me some JHay.

They're 81-79 going into this game and the last two games are insignificant so they aren't being played. Either way, the Bucs have a winning season, even if they lose to the Reds today.

And remember the 2019 meetup at PNC is happening so you guys should pick a day soon.

At least the Bucs went out on a high note. Fourth time since 1992 they've had a winning season!

We lied, stole, cheated, and bribed our way to the middle. Just ask Steve!

It was a good year. I got to make it to the Jake, met Spent_Casing, got under Steve's skin, came out as a Red Sox fan, spent a lot of hours watching grown men play a two hundred year old kid's game and discuss it at length with other grown men, spread the joy that is Pepperoni Rolls to other people. All in all, it was a fine season.

Now comes a month of playoffs, the World Series, and then three and a half months of waiting for our team's Truck Day to let us know that winter is almost over.
