Tons of good guys leaving the game this season too.

Wright, VMart, Pence. Probably Beltre and Mauer. It's possible we don't see CC, Colon, and King Felix next year either.

Of the 4 teams named by the MLBPA for "tanking" (MIA, PIT, OAK, TB) 3 have finished with a winning record. 1 is in the playoffs.

For the first time ever, there will be 2 Game 163's in the same season.

For the first time ever, there was more Ks than hits.

This was a weird season.

At least the Bucs went out on a high note. Fourth time since 1992 they've had a winning season!

We lied, stole, cheated, and bribed our way to the middle. Just ask Steve!

It was a good year. I got to make it to the Jake, met Spent_Casing, got under Steve's skin, came out as a Red Sox fan, spent a lot of hours watching grown men play a two hundred year old kid's game and discuss it at length with other grown men, spread the joy that is Pepperoni Rolls to other people. All in all, it was a fine season.

Now comes a month of playoffs, the World Series, and then three and a half months of waiting for our team's Truck Day to let us know that winter is almost over.

Yep. That was a great time and a highlight this season.

Im alrready looking forward to going to PNC next year.

Dont be surprised if I show up in a Joey Cora jersey. Im serious.

yes.. a truly awful season for O's fans, but damn those are some pretty crazy stats.

Beltre hasn’t announced anything, but it sure felt like a going away party.

I hope not because he has a couple of top notch years left. Maybe at DH, but he can still play at a high level.

At least now you know you need a straw cowboy hat. So you got that out of this season.

I too, hope he comes back. In DRS (Defensive Runs Saved) he was 2nd in the league for 3rd basemen.

But if he doesnt- Adrian Beltre records what might be the last putout of his career in the most Adrian Beltre kind of way

The same could be said for other pitchers not getting any run support.

Scherzer would have had nearly 30 wins had the Nats scored a few more runs. A bunch of his losses were 2-0.  He did his job.

If the Cubs handled their business the Brewers would not of tied them.  The Cub fans tears and gnashing teeth is a bonus.  Brewers went from crap to playoffs in 1.5 years.  So much for the usual 3-5 year rebuilding after selling off 95% of the team for prospects.  Any wins in the post season is icing on the cake for Brewer fans at this point, we're even getting a home playoff game no matter what happens tomorrow.

Id be surprised if Bartolo makes it. Hes certainly in the Hallway of Very Good. But much like Wright or VMart, I dont think he'll get it.

Mauer is borderline. If I had a vote, he would.

If he could get on base more often Billy Hamilton would be a shoo-in for most stolen bases ans XBHs. If he can get a ball in play it's an almost guaranteed stolen base coming and I see him routinely turn outfield singles into triples. He's got some serious wheels on him.

It's too bad he's wasted being exiled in CIN.

Votto is another borderline Hallway of Very Good case.

If I voted, hed be in the Hall of Fame.

I wouldnt be surprised if Votto made it.

I really feel bad about that 5 game sweep of the Brewers last month. You guys would have clinched the NLC outright without that.

Votto and Hamilton got pulled after the third today. On their way off the field they stripped off their caps and jerseys and handed them to some kids in the stands.

That's how you make lifelong fans.

Meh, with each passing year that is becoming less and less of an issue.

Especially since the guy that oversaw it all, and turned an unequivocal blind eye, is in the Hall. (Bud Selig)

Bonds is inner circle HoF. And every year more and more are accepting that.

Thats reality.

Not denying nor endorsing... Just sayin..

The difference between Bonds, MacGuire, etc. and Colon, A-Rod and Nelson Cruz is that the latter were all suspended for juicing where as the 90's guys never were. Hell, I'm not even sure it was against the rules when they were doing it.
