I'm hearing this movie is getting awesome reviews. Yup. The magic wore off really quick though. No one should review anything immediately after experiencing it. That goes for anything. This one will be enjoyable I am sure but do not have hopes it will be a knockout. |

Star Wars cast heading to the UK for premiere.

I just saw it. Released on the 17th here. Click To View Spoiler There was quite a bit of forced humour, which while fun kinda ruined the whole "feel" of the show. BB8 had way too much emotion for a droid as well, and seemed to be there intentionally to appeal to women Click To View Spoiler A Mon Calamari Admiral is in the movie, but they never call him by name, only "Admiral". I assume he is Admiral Snackbar, but I don't know how MC's age so who knows... Click To View Spoiler lol stereotypes...the Asian dude is the smart one who figures out the solution |

I love spoilers as they tell me whether or not the movie is worth seeing. If you don't like spoilers, don't read the wiki. Click To View Spoiler Didn't I just say: DON'T read the wiki!

I just hocked my 3D IMAX tickets for $65 and will now be seeing one 2D! I'm in line now!

Seriously how much of a douche do people have to be to post massive spoilers?

I loved it, they did what made sense, I could see the big spoiler coming halfway through the movie. I will go watch it again.

Whomever gave Andy Driver lessons in acting needs to be punched in the goddamned throat.

I loved it! It was alright. But I really do not think that it lived up to the hype, though. Nope. Not at all. Which was really disappointing. Ah, well, I guess this is a case of "Be careful what you wish for, lest you get it." Click To View Spoiler Nearly everyone I talked to wanted to see a Star Wars movie that recaptured the original 1977 film. I guess they got their wish

I think this movie hits exactly that. Where I fit on that curve however, will probably be more apparent after the 2nd or 3rd viewing. As of now, I really like it! |

Saw it tonight. Is this thread a spoiler free version?
Ready to chat it up with others that have seen it! |

Most arfcommers don't like anything anyway.
Those that expected a letdown likely got one. |

Just got out of the theater:
Pro's: Absolutely awesome action. The dogfights were amazing, gun battle were awesome, and the saber battles were excellent. The CGI was well done, not overdone. Cons/Spoilers: Click To View Spoiler This should have been called "A Newish Hope" Let's see: Imperials attack small rebel base, droid escapes into the desert with important resistance information on it. Droid is found by desert kid. Droid hops on Millennium Falcon to escape. Bad guys use newer death star to kill peaceful planets. Bad guys get coordinates to kill rebel base. Time to attack new death star. Fly through canyon and kill the core. Again. What else did I miss? |
|
Still processing it but I did like it. They did set it up big time for the next one.

View Quote Click To View Spoiler Desert kid is a new future jedi (that is obviously related in some way to the Skywalker family) discovers and successfully uses the Force despite no prior knowledge of it. Before destroying death planet, multiple people sneak around hallways and rooms on a base literally saturated with Storm Troopers without getting noticed or caught. And a wise older guy who kicked ass and took names in prior episodes gets kilt.
I'm also curious is Jakku is not actually Tatooine. |

I loved it! Still processing. Will need another viewing or two to finialize an opinion. But currently I am setting on a 'meh' for it. That's kind of where I am. But I'm starting to think. I'm 25 years old. I have watched the original trilogy since before I can remember. One thing that initially bothered me about this movie was the characters. When I think of the original series I think of all the characters and have had time to flesh out their roles and personalities. When I watched this I felt rushed with no connection to either. I'm starting to think a few more viewings will let me put a "label" to them. If that sounds right. Idk it's 2 am and I'm rambling now. I'll probably regret tying this in the morning. |

Great flick. I think it's impossible to surpass Episodes IV, V, and VI, but I thought this was so much better than I, II, and III. I will be seeing this one again....soon.
|
|
You'll like it much more if you were around 8 when Star Wars first came out. I thought it was much better than the last 3.
