It's zero.
'Oh' is a letter. While I'm at it, they're called decimals -- not 'points.' Kthx. |

Quoted: It's zero. 'Oh' is a letter. While I'm at it, they're called decimals -- not 'points.' Kthx. View Quote “Oh” is not a letter. “Oh” is an expression, as in: Oh shit, OP is saying stupid stuff again. O is a letter, as in LMNOP. It is also proper usage to use “point” for decimal. From Webster’s: 2. a dot or other punctuation mark, in particular a full stop. a decimal point. "fifty-five point nine" a dot or small stroke used in Semitic languages to indicate vowels or distinguish particular consonants. a very small dot or mark. No one says “5 decimal 56 mm” or “7 decimal 62 NATO”. In fact, it sounds stupid to express the decimal as “decimal”. Point is not only correct usage but is preferred. ETA - agreed on “zero” vs “O”. |

I have to agree with the OP. I work in purchasing. There's a big difference in O & 0. Especially when it comes to part numbers, purchase order numbers, and dollar amounts.

I remember this Chinese man trying to tell someone his phone number. The Canadian said each number out loud to confirm. Every time he said OH. The Chinese guy would yell NO ZERO. I don’t think he actually knew what he was saying because he had to start over each time.

Rarely are people as horribly wrong as the “Oh”P.
In addition to the 5.0, .308, 867-5309 that have already been mentioned, what about the aughts? .30-06 00 buck or 007 And.... 90210 (there’s two in there!!!) Just saw the OhP’s location and said to myself, “Oh, now that doesn’t make sense. Totally expected CA.” |

OP, want to change places? You can tell people what to do in Chicago and I can mind my own damn business in Wyoming.
