At least with computer parts oh is not used due to the issue of confusing the two.

Not sure what you are are buying or selling but this seems to be a manf. prob. Electronic manf. have figured it out.

Not only does nobody have that much ammo in stock, if they did the car would be too heavy to drive, even with a 5.0 engine in it.

We need a new thread rating and it will be a popular rating in GD: Diva

di-va
noun
a self-important person who is temperamental and difficult to please (typically used of a woman)

Nobody other than the OP gives a fuck, so OP is a diva and this is a diva thread.

Edit: Apologies to the Arfchicks for the comparison in the definition

Apparently, you do not understand the original poster's main point, which is of course that everything must be stated in the most long-winded way that it is possible to state things.

I could not be more clear about this readily observable fact of the matter.

One of our asshole customers sends over drawings with part numbers like MT0XG1TYO11. I'm sure their naming scheme makes sense to them, but it's hell when someone enters the part into the database and mixes up 0/O, the order gets put in with mixed up 0/O, and I'm trying to look for a drawing to make a program, or an operator is looking for a program.

My job revolves around numbers.  STO/PO numbers, trailer numbers, truck numbers, SKU numbers, bin numbers, branch numbers, quantity numbers, dollar amounts, dates, employee numbers, etc, etc...

One would sound retarded if using 'zero' and 'decimal' in place of 'oh' and 'point'.
In fact, I have never heard of someone replacing the word 'point' with 'decimal'. That is just plain stupid.
OP is wrong and should feel bad.

I'm pretty sure I remember being taught by one of my ancient teachers that it's incorrect to say point. 10.564 is not ten point five-six-four, it is ten and five hundred four thousandths.

Of course for ease of data entry these days no one gives a damn.
