Pete Souza, now President Obama's official photographer, captured the moment when he worked for President Reagan during the political thaw that soon ended the Cold War.

Clearly this thread is nothing more than a blatant attempt to get us to post various pictures from his life. I'll participate.

Any other photos when he was 20?
Just to clarify, Vladimir Putin would have been 36 years old when President Reagan made that trip. At any rate, I believe these are some of the pictures you want. Here are your pinups:

Wonder what his daughters look like now?
It is considered a media taboo to print photos of the children, Katia and Masha, as adults. It is ok to reprint the ones from childhood.

You have just proven the point.

The comments are petty and demeaning. Although celebrity culture exists everywhere (and nowhere else to the ridiculous extent as in U.S. and U.K.) it is still an individual choice not to participate in it.  The reasons for those comments spring from an innate urge to bring those higher than us down to a lower level, to reduce them to the lowest common denominator of modern life. Also, celebrity is most rapacious in the most developed societies. Focusing on a famous person's offspring is a way to gain some power simply by reducing someone else to less than the sum of their parts.

Interesting analysis. Were you a psych major?
In reality his daughter is pretty hot and I had been drinking and watching hoops.

Vlad doesn't smile much. Even when he was a young lad.

It's a cultural thing with Slavic males.  They place great value on Stoicism.

The modern American fixation on emotional demonstrativeness from our leaders wouldn't fly in Russia.

Like it or not, Putin takes a good picture... aside from kissing the stomachs of little boys.

He's no pansy.  Meanwhile, America is electing the softest dicks money can buy.
