1200 calories a day is cute. Haven't eaten in 26 days.

Had that diet in Iraq.

Went from 200 lbs to 170 and not in a good way.

Hope you're doing it intentionally, and if not good luck.

Fat coffee, (butter added) and a bit of dark chocolate (85% dark) and moderate amounts of nuts.  Keto items yes.

Ran 4 miles this morning then walked the dog for 2.

I’m down about 15 lbs. since I started this about a month ago.

Diet has trended more toward keto during that time, but I’ve had some “lapses.”

Running 2-3 times a week, working out at least two days a week. Feeling great, clothes are fitting better.

Still got a ways to go to be really nice and lean.

Eating steak tonight.

When I went back to gold diving in nome I was still doing keto, trying to stick to around 70-100 net carbs a day.
That's where I found out you can lapse and go over, and if you work hard enough, be right back into keto.
If you find the fine line between how many carbs you can eaat a day and stay in keto, you can dip in and out when you need/ want to.
I.E. I would eat a lot of carbs the night before a date so the keto breath would turn off, go one the date, then the next day be able to get right back in.

That's the nice thing about keto, if you blow your carb limit for the day, but not by a lot, it's just a low carb diet and even though you're not losing fat as fast due to directly burning it for energy, it's still way healthier than having carbs be the bulk of your food intake.

15 lbs in a month is awesome!  That's about where I was starting out, and after the water weight dropped off was about 10 lbs a month for the next few months.

Carbs are way too high today but that was mostly due to the chocolate milk I chugged right after the run. Otherwise I would be at 41 grams of carbs for the day and some days even lower than that. 20-30 grams of carbs is what I would prefer and I have done that before and felt fine.

I only want to lose about 15 more lbs. and get down to 170. Of course, I plan to build muscle so that number won’t just represent fat loss. I want to change my body composition in addition to losing fat.

Fo' sho'.

That's what I got into keto for originally, so I could dump fat fast, so I could start working out harder without killing my joints.

My body said FU over carbs, and I went from around 220lbs and strong, to 260 in about 4-5 months and super lethargic. After going to the doc thinking it was something major like low T or cancer (lots of chemical exposure in the military and commercial diving), all the blood work came back and it was "welcome to your mid to late 30's, stop eating carbs".  Went from 260 back down to 230-ish, then hard work in Alaska took care of the rest.

From everything I read, then recently experienced over the last two years, the best way to get rid of fat is put on muscle! (especially since stored fat is broken down for amino acids to repair muscle).

Weights a good baseline to track changes, but looking in a mirror with a critical eye does tell a more complete story.

I've been all over the map body composition wise, from skinny to monster. 30 lbs "overweight" of muscle was the best.

1200 cal a day, someone likes losing muscle mass, unless they are taking PED's or a 100 pound woman maybe.

I’m losing strength on 2,360 cal a day. Bench has suffered the most.

Really?  It's super easy.  Some days I don't even get to 1200.  I also do IF (lunch at noon and dinner at 6).  Been doing that for months now.

Exercise is a crappy way to lose weight. Doesn't work worth a shit. You can't burn enough calories.
View Quote
You burn like 70 calories an hour just existing.  400 calories from a 35 minute run.  Combine that with a low calorie diet and you're well on your way to acceptable weight loss.

OP, have you figured out yet that you could do 1600 calories a day or even 1800 on keto with very little discomfort after the first week?

No carbs= almost no cravings.

Carbs aren't the devil; INSULIN is.
