"Tourist area" huh? I saw a show where people were getting bit by sharks and there was a weird pattern.
People were having their ass cheeks bitten off. No shit. Turns out a dive operation was feeding sharks to entertain the tourist divers and they would pull fish from a bag at their waist (hanging down by their butts) to feed the sharks. Pretty smart if you ask me that the sharks learned to associate the human derriere with tasty treats! |

I'll always regret not diving in Monterey while I was there. But the combo of no drysuit and mildly regular problems with great whites while I was there I passed. I'd feel more comfortable diving great barrier cause at least there's visibility and less surprises. I thought The Great Barrier Reef was synonymous with shark attacks?
Isn't it know to have the largest number of Great White sharks as well as the biggest sharks of any ocean on the planet? Who the fuck goes swimming in a notoriously shark infest ocean? |

While snorkeling, scuba diving, and spearfishing in The Bahamas the sharks didn’t really scare me, but the barracudas that would follow made me nervous as fuck.

I like to boogie board at the coast. seen a few sharks while waiting for a big wave to come in. Witnessed a couple dolphin beating the hell out of a shark about 20 yards away from me. I often wonder if those guys saved my ass that day. View Quote Dolphins are quite intelligent. Although they were probably saving their own young, you would have just as likely been next. There are numerous historical examples of dolphins saving humans from various deaths. |

I most certainly voted "I don't enter the ocean". I don't feel like I belong in there - I never have. When we first got married, my wife would "swim out" when we went to the beach, and I'd freak out with worry. It's funny how she now feels the same way.
